This is delicious! I did not have hot roll mix on hand but I did have refrigerated crescent rolls. I sprayed my baking sheet with cooking spray, opened the crescent rolls and pressed them together to form a 10" x 15" rectangle. I then followed the directions exactly as written for the pastry. For the filling ingredients, I added a couple dashes of allspice and a dash of garlic. Received many compliments and requests for the recipe. Thanks Becky for sharing this simple, delicious recipe. I will make again.

I thought this tasted good. I noticed the only 3 people that reviewed this none of them used the hot roll mix. I found it in the baking goods isle made by Philsbury. I have never used it before but bought it to try this. I don't care for ricotta, so I did not use it, but followed everything else. I used red onion instead of white because it was what I had on hand to use and cheddar cheese crumbles. It kind of reminded me of a ham pizza with the ham, cheese, green pepper, onion combination. I thought the bread part did taste like it came from a box though and tasted like a mix between a roll and a biscuit. But, I liked the braiding part of it. I wasn't sure if the dough would hold all the ingredients, but it ended up rising to nearly 3 times it size so it was plenty large. I may now try the braiding technique another time with pizza dough and ingredients like the other reviewers mentioned. It holds the ingredients in well. Thank you.

This is delicious! Braiding it makes it seem like it's a complicated recipe and you'll wow your guests with how great it looks. I also used pizza dough, as per the suggestion of another reviewer. Make sure you bake it according to the pizza dough directions and not the temp/time in the recipe.

WE LOVE THIS! I make my own bread dough and make a couple at a time for our superbowl party. We even put in pizza toppings instead of the ham as well as other variations.

This was OK for a quick and easy weeknight meal. I was happy to have found a recipe to use for the ham and ricotta I had hanging out in the fridge...I did add some leftover shredded chicken to the mix as well as some garlic and since I could not find hot roll mix (what is that?!), I used refridgerated pizza dough which made this very easy. Thanks for the recipe.
