I LIKE to prepare this when I have leftovers of ham and day-old bread on hand. It's a delicious dish for brunch. Besides being so tasty, it's prepared the night before, which allows me more time to complete other dishes for the meal. This dish still tastes good hours after being baked, so it's also a favorite to take along for potluck gatherings. -Elizabeth Hesse, Springville, New York

For the perfect combination of eggs, sausage, bread and cheese, this is the dish to try. My mom and I like it because it bakes up tender and golden, slices beautifully and goes over well whenever we serve it. -Gayle Grigg, Phoenix, Arizona

Want to be sure your family's eggs are all ready at the same time on Christmas morning? Try this merry make-ahead breakfast casserole. I sometimes make it heartier by adding some dries beef with the bacon.

When I know I'm going to have company for breakfast, this is the dish I serve. Because you prepare it the night before, all you have to do is pop it in the oven and you're free to make the juice and toast.

'Isn't it about time for you to make your 'egg pie'?' my husband and sons inquire, using the nickname they've given this hearty casserole. It's nice enough for a special brunch and versatile enough for a satisfying family supper. -Patricia Throlson, Hawick, Minnesota

This has been a family favorite for years, and I made it often when my two children were growing up. The kids are now grown and away from home, but whenever they visit, they always put in a special request for this delicious cheesy dish.

Cheesy Green Bean Casserole

'This is a variation of a recipe I used in home ec class when I was in middle school,' recalls Paula Magnus of Republic, Washington. 'I made it a lot for our family of seven when I was growing up. Now I fix it frequently for my family of five. I usually use canned green beans and there's seldom any left over.'
