Great recipe. Very easy to make. I even cheated and used cubed hash browns. And as some others suggested, I just mashed them up a little bit with a hand masher, because I liked the chunks. Double the recipe because you will want leftovers and it was great reheated!

This was very good. A very cheesy flavor. The dill and red pepper really add a nice flavor and a bit of a kick.

Do not totally puree the potaoes, leave some chunks for texture, also boil the potatoes with a clove or 2 of garlic or saute the garlic with the onions - adds a nice flavour if you like garlic. Also agree with omitting the salt if using commercial chicken broth, and milk is great if you don't have cream.

My family loved this soup. I am from PA and one of my families favorite potatoe soups is "German Potaote Soup", well, I have found another favorite! I also used 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup sour cream instead of heavy cream, and added just a dash more cayenne pepper and served it with parisian bread! AWESOME

Excellent! I used half-n-half instead of heavy cream (it's what I had on hand). Also, I used chicken stock with water in place of canned chicken broth. (Much better for any recipe that calls for broth.) It was delicious. Next time I make it I will probably add real bacon bits. Perfect amounts of seasoning - could even bump up the cayenne to make it spicier, but my family liked it as is.

YUM!! This soup is absolutely delicious! I didn't have heavy cream though so I used cream of chicken soup instead of chicken broth and milk instead of the cream. IT was VERY good!

This recipe was very good. I served it with popcorn and a crusty, hot ciabatta. I will definitely make it again....and may even try substituting some of the chicken broth with beer to make a potato beer cheese soup.

Terrific recipe! My husband loved it! It was my first try at making potato soup and it worked out great. I used a white sharp cheddar and it was really tasty! I did skip the dill as I'm not a fan.

I saw this recipe today and just knew I had to make it to go with burgers we were making on the grill. In a word, WONDERFUL! Very easy to make. Just did not add any salt, and to keep it on a lighter fare, I used 2% milk instead of heavy cream. We loved it, and I will make it again and again.
