I made this last night and it was ok, edible, but nothing to go crazy over. I didn't have diced cheese so I used 2 cups shredded cheese-otherwise, followed exact recipe. I used the small onion and it seemed a bit overpowering--and I like onion flavor. Aside from the onion flavor, I felt it was a bit bland. I did not add extra salt, just salted the water for pasta as some sausages/kielbasa's are a bit salty to begin with. I should have listened to others and not used the onion. I might try this again, but not going to make it a staple meal in our home.
