This is the first meatloaf I've ever had, and it was wonderful. I used flavored breadcrumbs, omitted the minced onion, and added 2 packages of Onion Soup Mix. Instead of forming the jelly roll, I just mixed everything together and formed a loaf. I will make this recipe over and over again!

I rolled this up with the Cheddar cheese, added bacon pieces, and topped it with Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce. Really, really good and a very nice change from boring old everyday meatloaf. I served it with extra BBQ sauce, onion rings, and steamed broccoli. There isn't a single piece left over!

Good old fashioned comfort food! I used a very lean ground beef, and jazzed it up a bit with Worcestershire sauce, A1 Steak sauce, and garlic powder. I stuffed it with sauteed onions and mushrooms, and topped it with some crispy bacon. It tasted just like a bacon, mushroom, cheeseburger!

This meatloaf was the most flavorful that I have ever tasted. It was seasoned to the T. I used Monterey Jack cheese and it was delicious:) Thanks Douglas!!!!

This recipe was so easy to make! It is real easy to make it your own by adding whatever extras that suit your tastes. It is kind of greasy though.

This was pretty good. I added a bit of worcestshire sauce as suggested by another user. I served with spaghetti sauce on top (no ketchup in the house). I will probably make this again. Thanks for the recipe!

Delicious! Here are a few of my suggestions - to avoid the grease problem - use super lean beef - I used 95% lean, it wasn't greasy at all... also, I used mozzarella in the middle (part-skim). It was perfect! And, for those of you watching calories/fat, it's pretty friendly, only 3 WW points per slice!

Love this recipe, and my husband loved it too. My mom used to make something similar to this when I was little. The only problem I had was keeping the cheese contained within the loaf. It oozed out while it was baking...other than that FANTASTIC! Thanks for a great recipe Doug!

I reduced the amount of cheese to about a cup of shredded cheddar jack and added a couple of slices of american cheese. I also used Jane's Crazy Mixed Up Salt instead of regular salt and added a dash of garlic powder. I swapped out crushed crackers for the bread crumbs. I used one of Paula Deen's tricks to soak up the grease: You place the rolled up loaf on a few slices of bread. Like some of the others, I thought it needed a glaze and used my mother's old stand-by: Heinz ketchup. It did need a touch more than the 1 hour baking time, though. Would make this one again, though.

Husband loved this dish! I used american cheese slices down the middle, mixed mustard and ketchup together and spread on top. Cheese only oozed out after I cut it. Added extra diced onions on my slice and it tasted just like a cheeseburger! Thanks for a keeper!

I make this a lot because my family loves it. I did make a change though... Instead of putting the cheese in jellyroll style, I just mix in shredded cheese of any kind with the meat. To help with the grease problem, I place the loaf on oven broiling pan and the excess grease drips off.

This was the first time in my meatloaf history that there weren't any leftovers to enjoy the next day for lunch! As I always do, I used ground turkey and Douglas, I took your advice and stuffed the meatloaf with sauteed mushooms, shredded swiss and also added onions and crumbled cooked bacon. I glazed the top with barbeque sauce along with a couple of strips of bacon. My kids flipped over this and my younger daughter said that this was the best meatloaf I've ever made. Thanks Douglas!

I have to say that this recipe turned out better than I anticipated. One major complaint, though, LOTS of grease! Yuck! I did make a few minor changes ~ instead of cheddar cheese, I used american cheese. I also used Lipton onion soup mix in the meatloaf. Meatloaf isn't meatloaf without a glaze, in my opinion. So, I placed a mixture of brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and honey on top of it while it baked. Yum! Even my daughter who isn't a big fan of meatloaf really enjoyed this. Oh, my husband and I took it a step further and dipped ours in *fry sauce* (recipe on the site that is a mix of mayo and ketchup) ~ wowzers, just like a cheeseburger. Served this meatloaf up with corn on the cob and baked french fries III (also from this site)! :o)

This was a bust. It was incredibly greasy, and I didn't even use as much cheese as the recipe called for because I thought it looked like a lot. Pass on this one.

Great Meatloaf! Just a couple of additions that I thought helped; I added 1/2 cup worchestershire sauce and used Garlic Salt instead of the regular salt. My 8 and 10 yr. olds were all set to hate it and the look of surprise on their faces when they first tried it was hilarious!
