Cheese Dip II

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (2 pound) loaf processed cheese, cubed
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (16 ounce) jar picante sauce

DIRECTIONS

  1. Melt processed cheese in a slow cooker set for high heat. Stir occasionally to avoid burning.
  2. Place ground beef in a large skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain beef, and mix in water and taco seasoning mix. Cook and stir 2 to 4 minutes.
  3. Stir seasoned beef into the melted processed cheese. Mix in salsa. Cook and stir until well blended. Serve warm.

I just tried this recipe and my whole family loved it! It would be just fine as you wrote it, but I added some finely chopped onions and some kidney beans. Thanks for a great recipe!

Added garlic, onion , tabasco sauce and cilantro. Delicious and very addicting! Be sure to use in a crockpot that is slightly bigger than 2qt. or consider preparing the dip on the stove on low heat and then transfering to a preheated small crockpot.

WE really liked this! After cooking, I took this in a crockpot to serve at our cabin and it didn't last the evening! Didn't change a thing BUT I might try salsa next time instead of picante sauce. Thanks Angie!
