These were great, especially when you have guests and want to prepare things in advance. I followed the recipe but did add a little milk. I used regular baking potatoes, freshly grated cheddar (melts better than packaged shredded cheese), and Hormel microwave bacon, chopped (4 strips per pack). I'm going to make these again, maybe with Yukon gold or red potatoes.

This was a very easy and great tasting recipe. I added 1/2 a block of cream cheese to make it richer. Baking it added a nice crust to the top with the cheese.

We made these for Thanksgiving and when I asked my husband if he liked them he said "I hope you never make mashed potatoes any other way". I should have added more salt and pepper, and I added more bacon than recipe called, but other than that I followed it to the letter.

I just wanted to say that these potatoes are a hit with my family from the first time I made them. Just a change that I made was that I use small red potatoes but leave the skins on.

Loved this recipe. Tokk it to a pot luck and the pan was empty when I brought it home. I used Yukon Gold and left the skins on. I also used real bacon pieces instead of bacon. Still turned out great!

AWESOME. I used 5lbs. of yukon gold potatoes with the skins on, and eyeballed the ingredients. Made these for Thanksgiving and everyone LOVED them.

my potatoes turned out very creamy and yummy! although I don't think it's necessary to cook in the oven that long, all you need is to melt the cheese on top and they will be good to go. they taste like a big baked potato, although a lot more work that a baked potato...but it is still a good recipe, especially for a group of people. I will most likely make these for our family gatherings. Thanks!

I made this when I had some friends over and it was so yummy! I didn't use any bacon because I didn't have any and to be honest, I just don't think it needs it! It was good all on its own! Way to go! I will definitely make it again!

Yum! I followed this recipe until the "mash" part. I placed all ingredients in an electric mixer and blended until the desired consistency was reached. I did add a small amount of milk to make it creamier. Not a morsel was left!

Very good... I used green onions instead of chives and used 8 slices bacon, I would make this again. I think you can use more or less of the ingredients and it would still come out good.

Pretty good recipe. This was my first time making mashed potataos. It was a little dry so next time I would use more milk and butter.

wow wow wow....bacon, cheese, sour cream, how can you go wrong? I couldn't believe this recipe didn't call for milk, but it certainly doesn't need it! I followed the recipe, w/the addition of minced garlic. I blended the bacon (Hormel real bacon bits...I took the easy route), cheese, chives, and garlic when i mashed the potatoes and splashed some on top for garnish prior to rebaking. My husband said they are the best he ever tasted. I used all fat-free/low fat foods and the taste wasn't affected at all....This will get a lot of use at our house! UPDATE: I just made these again for the first time in months and I forgot just how awesome they are! I know it's hard to not use milk making mashed potatoes, but trust me, you don't need it!

Very good! I have made this twice in the past month. I did add more of the good stuff though...butter, sour cream, cheese and bacon. It just seemed to need more! Yum!
