Yum, these turned out really good. Although, I did add a coupe splashes of milk to help with the mashing. You could either top with the bacon, cheese and chives or just mix it all together. I think it would taste great either way. I did not have chives on hand, so I just subbed onion salt for the regular salt instead.

I was very disappointed. This dish actually has very little flavor if the recipe is followed as is. I would make again but I would double all of the ingredients except the potatoes & I would use up to 1C of sour cream. I woul also mix all of the ingredients togeter.

Delicious - but I did not peel the potatoes - we like them a little more "homestyle" - thanks for a great recipe!

Have made this several times-a great make ahead side dish. my son likes them cold-says it tastes like smashed potato salad. Great with ham, meatloaf, pork roast, steak...on and on.

Quite simple. This paired very nicely with Southwest Summer Pork Chops. We ate every little bit. Very good.

The initial recipe I gave 3 stars because it doesn't fit me and my honey's lifestyle as well as it could. I give my version 5 stars. I used light sour cream, excluded the bacon, and added 4 chicken breasts (about 6 oz each) and two cups of corn. That made this into a meal that was very tasty. Also we are counting our calories and with the exclusions and additions it came out to 497 calories and has a nutrition grade of B. That's great for a meat and potatoes meal!

These were the BEST! I couldn't resist mixing the potatoes the bacon, cheese and chives AND adding it on top as a garnish as well. It's a loaded mashed potato perfected!

These are sooo good! I added a little bacon grease to them as well. Really, there isnt any need to keep them in the oven very long if you make them right away. Just 5 min to melt the cheese, then they are ready!

We loved these potatoes and I have to say one thing, they are even better warmed up the next day! I used small red potatoes with skin on and added garlic powder and minced onion when preparing. I did use more sour cream than stated, but that is a personal preference. Great recipe for a change.

These were pretty good, but I think next time I make them, I would mix the cheese and bacon throughout the potatoes, rather than just layering it on top.

I have made these potatoes for the last two Thanksgivings and they are always a hit. This year I took them to a Thanksgiving potluck (where there were plenty of other potato dishes) and came home with an empty dish!
