I used a homemade biscuit mix and they turned out great! No need for baking powder as my biscuit mix already included it. I added the garlic powder to the dough and upped the amount of shredded cheese - as well as topping them with a little cheese as well. They may seem slightly doughy when you take them out of the oven, but they'll continue cooking a little longer outside, so don't over-bake!

These were simple, fantastic, and yummy! My son said they tasted just like Red Lobster biscuits! I used a small box of the Jiffy buttermilk biscuit mix which is the perfect amount for recipe. Will be making this recipe for years to come. Thanks a million!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I made these biscuits on a whim last night to go along with homemade Cobb salads. I reduced the servings to 7 and added about a teaspoon or so of parsley to the mix. My boyfriend asked what they were when they came out of the oven because they looked really lumpy and strange. But after he tasted one he was instantly hooked. He did say they were a little buttery, but that is because I used too much melted butter when they came out of the oven. This recipe is now my go to recipe for biscuits.

Great recipe! Added just a touch of garlic powder to the mix before I added the milk. They were great. Will add this to my collection.

Super delicious! I've made two double-batches of these in the last two days and they have been a big hit, both with my family and my friends at work. I prefer to use Wisconsin Sharp Cheddar, and i like to mix in a bit of fresh parsley to the butter mix that you brush on the top. Also, I used a small ice cream scoop the second time around to get bigger biscuits at a more consistent size. These will be great for Thanksgiving!

Much like the ones at a popular seafood restaurant. We might add more cheese next time because we are cheese lovers, but the recipe was still very good as written. I can't believe how easy these were to make… and devour.

These were so good and so easy! They were such a hit with my dinner party. I quadrupled the cheese and dipped them in the margarine/garlic powder as other reviews had suggested. The only problem was they were smaller than I thought and everyone loved them. If I made them again I would make 3 per person!

YUM! i made these last night for friends and read the recipe wrong and put garlic salt in the batter, along with it in the butter spread. they were good, but a bit salty. i made them again tonight for others, reading the recipe right, and they were amazing! instead of brushing the butter/garlic mixture on top, i dipped the biscuits in it. (to me, it was easier.) then, i put them back in the oven for about a minute so they got a little crunchier on top.

I use this recipe too, but I also add ground flax seed (for added fiber), old bay, dried chives, grated parmesan cheese, shredded pizza mix cheese and garlic powder to the mix. My family says they taste just like Red Lobster's cheesy biscuits, but better texture. Of course you brush on melted butter mixed with some garlic powder or garlic salt after baking - which makes them good and crunchy on the outside. (They freeze great too!)

These are wonderful! They help to spice up a hotdish or even great with a salad!! My family likes a more garlic taste, so I add garlic salt to the batter and sub the minced onion with just a dash of onion powder. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!! I will be using it for years to come!!
