These were great, and I appreciated the short list of ingredients. The horseradish flavor is more prominent than the bacon flavor, but we liked that. When these were on the grill for a few minutes, the cheddar started to melt, causing the grill to get smoky. This isn't a bad thing. Even more great flavor!! We topped with carmelized onions, lettuce (to make it healthy), and tomatoes. This one stays in the recipe box.

Very good burgers. I left out the horseradish because we were out. I thought I wouldn't enjoy the bacon pieces, but you honestly couldn't tell they were there. Even my kids didn't know they were in there - it just had a nice flavor.

I used mayo horseradish, which worked just the same. I didn't put the cheese in the hamburger. Instead we put it on top. The buns were "Simple Whole Wheat Bread" from this website.

These burgers are SO good! I get SO many compliments on them everytime I make them. I add extra bacon and cheese though it's not necessary and don't worry about the horseradish, you can't taste it. I even add extra because I love horseradish. The burgers do not fall apart if you refridgerate them for 20 minutes or so after forming the patties, no egg is necessary. Great recipe!

My husband LOVED these! I thought they were good but a little rich. I made them as written with the exception of using sharp cheddar cheese (maybe that is why they were rich?). I also added a little minced garlic. I agree with those who said they were a bit salty. Next time I will omit the salt. I used extra lean ground beef and I had no problem with the burgers falling apart.

This was absolutely delicious! I added a 1/2 tsp. worchestire sauce, a tsp of seasoning salt, and a Tbsp. cold water because after adding the bacon and cheese, the texture of the meat felt a little dry. Served on onion rolls with BBQ sauce. Great flavor!

I made these almost exactly as written. I used small cubed pepper jack instead of grated cheddar and used 5 pieces of crumbled freshly cooked bacon in leiu or bacon bits. Next time I will OMIT the 1/2 teaspoon of salt as the bacon and cheese have enough salt to season the burger adequately. The horseradish gave the burger a fabulous zest but you cannot taste that tell tale horseradish taste. My husband hates horseradish as a condiment but could not tell what gave the burgers that great zestyness so go ahead and use the full 2 tablespoons! I mixed the cheese, horseradish, bacon and spices all together with a wooden spoon. I then added the ground beef, 4% fat, and mixed until very well combined. Since some complained of the burgers falling apart I put the burger in a ziplock and put it in the freezer for 20 minutes, then made patties and got them on the drill immediately. I had no issue with them falling apart what so ever. This is a very tasty recipe that I will certainly use again.

I made these for the first time several weeks ago, and now my husband requests them all the time! I tried using bacon bits the first time, but it didn't taste much like bacon in the burger and left strange red 'dots' in the meat - it looked like the meat was uncooked in spots (and it was cooked). So we always use real bacon crumbled up now. The topping we love is my moms bbq sauce mixed with mayonnaise - it's amazing! Totally don't need ketchup when you do that, and it goes perfectly with the taste of the burger.

Excellent recipe!! Will definitely make these over and over again! I did add some finely diced sweet onion but the rest of the recipe I did exactly the same. Very moist. Had to add an egg to help keep it together and even then they wanted to fall apart on the grill. Next time I will freeze the patties and grill them right from the freezer to see if they hold together better.

These were so good, I put it in some green onions, used some sharp cheddar and placed some grilled pineapple on top. They did fall apart a little bit during the cooking, but it wasn't really that much.

Ok - - MAYBE I'm easy to please, because I've done quite a few 5-star ratings, But this was HONESTLY VERY GOOD! I do NOT like horseradish, but I followed the recipe, but DID go ahead and add a "glop" of A-1. Very moist, very tasty!! Neither hubby or 13 year old needed nor wanted catsup or ANYthing on their burgers!! I'm quadrupling the recipe for a birthday bar-b-q today! Originally served this with a Macaroni & Cheese salad found here on this website.

Good! We put cheese slices on top of the burgers instead of adding it to the mix. I think I would add a little less bacon next time, because the flavor was a little overpowering. Loved the horseradish, though.

I did not use horseradish, icck. I added garlic salt and parsley to the meat. Instead of putting cheese and bacon bits into the burger meat, I added a slice of cheese and two slices of bacon on each burger.
