I love this recipe. Once You try it you will never go back to ground meat taco meat. The flavor is great & it's so easy. Just dump everything into a crock pot & walk away. I made it with fresh chilis the first time & canned the next. I recommend the canned chilis. Even though the water doesn't look like enough, don't add more. It will be plenty. This is great for nachos!

Sooo Good! Definetly shred the beef and then put it back in the crockpot for at least an hour so that the liquid absorbs into the meat. I defatted my liquid in between shredding the beef.

I liked this dish. I would do it differently next time. I didn't add quite as much hot sauce as the recipe suggested, but added too much for my taste. I came home at lunch and tested it and it was burning my mouth. I still wanted it to work, so I drained all the water that was in the crock pot and added new with some lighter seasoning. It worked. When I came home, I shredded up the beef and added it back to the liquid without the vegetables. It turned out very tender and juicy. So, I recommend it, but if you're worried about the spiciness, just put less of the hot sauce! I will say that I think the flavors could be a bit more layered - it's a one-dimensional spice rather than a complex spice. But overall - quite good!

I made this for a party last night and it was a big hit. warmed up flour and corn tortillas and served with chopped cilantro, chopped onion, chopped habenaro peppers and sliced avocadoes. I just added cumin. Put in crockpot for 6 hours, took meat out and shredded, then put back in crockpot. Everybody raved on how good it was.

This was excellent. My husband and I both enjoy spicy cuisine so this was great for us. The flavor was fabulous and the meat was so tender. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Was disappointed. Hoped for a shortcut. Hot sauce covered up the taste of everything. And I LOVE spicy, spicy food. Wouldn't make again. I am mexican and we would never make carne like this. Just chuck, salt, pepper, onions, and a bay leaf. The spice comes from fresh made pico de gallo or salsa.

Awesome, mouth-watering, meat. I didn't use as much hot sauce but we didn't need it. It was quite good as a filler for tamales and we froze some of it for tacos later-- just as good, if not better. Thanks for posting!

YUM! I didn't have any cayenne pepper on hand & it still came out with wonderful flavor & spice! My husband absolutely loved it. Ate leftovers as sandwiches. Perfect and so easy!

You can change the heat easily by using mild or hot green chilis.

This recipe was easy, delicious, and it makes a ton! I halved the recipe for a 2 pound roast and my husband and I ate three large dinners plus one lunch from the meat. So versatile - make burritos or baked chimichangas with refried beans - delish!

I followed this recipe to a tee and it was delicious and easy. The only exception was I used half of the required hot sauce. Delicious. I even made this for breakfast the next day with egg as directed.

I have made this several times now! Everyone loves it. For the hot sauce, I use Tapatio. I learned that the sooner you shred the meat and let it slow cook for several hours, the hotter the meat will be. I have also used this recipe on chicken for taquitos and it works perfect! Thanks for the great recipe!

To shorten the time cut the meat into 3 or 4 chunks and brown. This cuts the cooking time by 3-4 hours

Followed directions exactly scaled for a 2.5lb roast. The liquid mixture was spicy but unfortunately the flavor didnt make it to the meat itself. I tried to add "the juice" to our soft tacos to flavor the meat but it just made the shell soggy and the meal very messy. Wish it was better!

I couldn't have enjoyed this meat more. I am a big fan of spicy food and I have to say that this dish was great. The meat was so good that my extremely picky sitter and brother-in-law said so (that rarely happens).

This was delicious! I used a moose roast and what is normally gamey, wasn't at all. I'm convinved you could cook an old shoe with this recipe and it would be wonderful.

Yum-azing!!! My husband took this to a work potluck and I got 6 phone calls for the recipe! It was a little spicy for our family, so when I make it for home, I use less hot sauce.
