I make these as a diet treat by using egg substitute, yogurt butter, fat free condensed milk and sugar-substitute brown sugar. They're absolutely amazing! Soft and chewy, yet very decadent. I'm not a fan of nuts in sweets, so I generally leave them out. I make these about once a month, just to have around the house for when that sweet tooth hits.

These were pretty good but very sweet. I couldn't use nuts in these so I used skor bits instead...nice recipe would make again

I made these yesterday, with the only deviation being that I omitted the nuts and added 1/2 cup of butterscotch chips. I didn't like these very much. For me, they were just pure sugar in various forms, and I didn't like the way that tasted. I didn't like the texture of the sweetened condensed milk layer, nor did I like the taste. The shortbread-y layer was all right, but as a whole, I wouldn't make these again.

These little guys are so rich and delicious! I am not a notoriously great baker (it's usually box mix all the way for me), but these came out so good! I didn't have 2 full cups of chips, so for the topping I added about 2 Tbsp of choc syrup to the mixture. Next time (and there WILL be a next time!) I'm going to try some peanut butter chips or the swirled chips. This is so much easier than making cookies and the yield is still about the same.

I made these bars for a teenage girls group and thought for sure they'd be a hit, but the bars were very spongy and lacked flavor. The topping, though the recipe does not state, I believe would have been better had I melted the chocolate and really been able to spread it over the bars. Needless to say, I will not be making this recipe again.

My husband and I thought these bars were very bland. They seemed to be missing something. Too bad because I love the layering idea!

Awsome cookie!! I used room temperture butter and it was WAY easier to mix and still turned out crumbly like it was supposed to. Followed recipe to a T and it turned out perfect. Baked 20 min. Thank You!!!!!!!!

Very good and very easy. Didn't add nuts, but other than that, followed the recipe exactly. I ended up cooking them for 25 minutes, but next time I will cook for a few minutes less, as they were a little too well done.

Mmm... so good. Made exactly minus the nuts. So good, so fattening.

This one is a winner! I will definitely make thes again! I love making bar cookies, because you aren't a slave to the kitchen. Just pop it in the oven and cut them up when they cool. Thanks for a yummy treat!

These make great cookies-the addition of the sweetened condensed milk really keeps these moist. I made these for my husband's poker party and they were all gone by the end of the night.
