AWESOME chai recipe. It tastes so smooth & has a delicious honey/spice taste. This chai is a little spicier than what I have normally encountered from a store-bought mix, but I loved it! You do need to be sure that you grind up the mixture very finely to avoid having grounds in your mug. I gave this as a gift to my mom & a friend & they loved it, too.

Sooooooo good. This is the best chai tea mix there is! And probably the best I've ever tasted. I only made 2 small adjustments: I halved the cardamom, and I opted no for the pepper, but I did add the nutmeg. Delicious, delicious, delicious! I prefer and iced chai tea, so I mix up 1 cup hot water, to 2 tablespoons mix, let cool and then whip in the blender. I add some ice, and viola! Instant iced chai tea!

When warm weather arrives, a girl's thoughts turn to iced chai lattes... I love this mix, it has saved me both money and calories by enabling me to skip Starbucks. I like my chai very spicy and not too sweet, so I only use 1 C of sugar and use heaping measurements of all the spices, plus 1/2 tsp white pepper, 1 heaping tsp allspice, and 1 tsp anise seed. Rather than using instant tea, I just use a teabag and add the mix after it's finished steeping.

My husband and I recently gave up coffee, and bagged tea just wasn't cutting it. This hits the spot taste-wise, money-wise and calorie-wise. Thanks so much!

I love this mix. I decrease the sugar by at least half. Instead of using vanilla creamer, I add vanilla extract to the sugar and let it dry before putting it in the coffee grinder. I grind all the spices first, to make them as fine as possible, and then grind everything together. I double the mix and triple the spices to make it spicy enough. I don't use the cardamom, but I add the white pepper, nutmeg, and allspice. It's a winter staple, as I detest coffee. Sometimes I make it iced by filling the cup only halfway with boiling water and adding slightly more mix than for the full cup. I let the spices steep and then add ice until it is cold. Just as tasty, but good for a warm day.

This is PHENOMENAL!!!! So comforting on an icy day. I love it!! Plus it makes a ton so if you are just making it for one or two people it will last at least the whole fall and winter. I have made this at least 2 times in the past year. Everyone I give it to loves it, everyone I give the recipe to loves it. If you are a Chai Latte kind of person definitely try this recipe!!!!

This was great! I have my whole office hooked now. I added all the extra spices suggested and cut the sugar down by 1/2 a cup. Also added a little liquid vanilla and let it mix in and dry out instead of buying seperate vanilla creamer powder. Have made it several times now and so have several of the girls in the office.

Now I don't have to pay for expensive chai tea latte on a daily basis! I make it before I leave for work in my travel mug and off to work... Just as good as the Starbucks ones!

I've never had Chai tea before so I don't know if mine tastes as it should. I halved the recipe as I didn't know if I would like it. I haven't as yet run it through my food processor. I thought it was already fine but maybe I am wrong. I just tasted like milk with some spices in it. I didn't cut down on the sugar but it wasn't very sweet anyway. I went to a health food store and bought the cardamom by the tablespoonful. It's much cheaper that way and is much fresher. I didn't add the extra spices because on my copy of the recipe which I printed on 3/21, it didn't mention them. I will try adding them now.

This recipe makes an excellent chai spiced tea. I did modify it by using only the spices listed including adding the nutmeg, allspice and pepper. Add approx. 1/4 tsp to your cup of tea when you add the hot water to the tea bag.( I use 10 oz mugs) and adjust your sugar and milk to taste. You will have sediment in the bottom of your cup from the spices since they don't disolve. Works awesome in a teapot too!

This was really great... I ground my spices first in my bullet grinder so they would be as fine as possible. I also left out the instant tea and added it to my hot tea from a tea bag. This is so great because you can customize it to your own taste! Thanks. Definitely will be given to a few friends at Christmas!!!

This drink mix has become a staple in my cupboards for all time! I cut back the sugar to 1 cup but that is the only change I have made to this recipe. I do process the mix in my Cuisinart but it still is grainy at the bottom of the cup. Never mind! I love this mix, have made it for friends at Christmas time and take it with me when I travel. It is every bit as good as the Trader Joe's Chai tea and I like the fact I can make this decaffinated!

I used Splenda instead of sugar and cut it down to 2 cups. I added all of the spices as dictated by the recipe plus the extra allspice and nutmeg and it was amazing. I didn't add the pepper as I wasn't too keen on it since it was my first time making it. I also used fat free skim milk powder and it worked out great. I didn't have a coffee grinder so I used my magic bullet and it grinded well enough. The only issue I have is that the tea floats around - next time I will mix everything but have tea bags instead. Enjoy!
