Cereal Treats I

This version has no chocolate topping, but it would be easy to melt chocolate chips and spread them over the top. We have a nut allergy in our family and I omit the peanut butter and substitute 1/2 cup of butterscotch chips melted with the margarine instead.

If regular Rice Treats are too plain, try these - made with apple cinnamon cereal! You can use any type of sweetened breakfast cereal.

These are kind of like crispy rice treats, only better I think. They are good with chocolate candies and peanuts added too!

This is the BEST gooey crispy rice treat ever. I make it for pot lucks, and I always take the recipe with me. A change from the marshmallow bars!

'A little bit of chocolate and cocoa goes a long way to give Rice Krispies treats a scrumptious new twist,' says Gretchen Hickman of Galva, Illinois. 'I especially like these bars because they are crisp, not sticky. They disappear in a flash whenever I serve them.'
