The reason this recipe is nearly 5 stars is because it is terrific! The poultry seasoning is just right. I doubled this recipe using a whole roasted chicken. I followed a couple of other suggestions: used half mayo and half sour cream (low fat for both); mixed the seasonings and lemon juice and tossed with the chicken before adding the remaining ingredients; substituted dried cranberries for the grapes. Everyone wanted the recipe! Kudos to Carol!

Best chicken salad I have ever tried! I left out the swiss cheese simply because I do not care for it. Also left out the water chesnuts. On accident, I did not add the poultry seasoning but it still turned out amazing! My mother tried this recipe with the poultry seasoning and raved about how much better mine was than hers. This will be a family favorite for years to come!

This definitely did not meet my expectations. It was too dry and the poultry seasoning was over bearing. Won't make this again.

This is a super recipe. I've made it several times but not always the same. If I use the recipe as is, I leave out the swiss cheese from the salad mixture but add the swiss cheese when I use this salad for a chicken melt (alternative to tuna melt). I also will sometimes omit the poultry seasoning and use yellow curry powder instead. I also omit the swiss cheese when I make it with curry powder as flavors seem to compete. This salad is great and we have it a LOT during the summer months.

This was definatley a good base recipe but needed some tweeking to make it more exciting. Instead of using the poultry seasoning, I used Montreal Chicken Spice and this really added some zing. I also toasted pecan rather than the water chestnuts and used shredded Swiss. Overall we all enjoyed it.

This was super easy to make and the taste was delightful. We had this for lunch with toasted, homemade bread. Very nutritious and satisfying. I will make this again. Oh, we had no lemon so used apple cider vinegar.

The spices in this recipe were just perfect for me--walnuts made a great addition too. This is going to be my summer staple!

Great combination of spices for flavor. For a shortcut on the chicken, I use some grilled chicken breast from KFC. They are the most flavorful, moist chicken breast you will ever use.

I am somewhat of a chicken salad "snob" and this is fantastic! Definitely slice the grapes in half to release the juice (I did use red for the color) and make the night before. It is so moist and delicious! I served on pitas lined with fresh spinach.

This review is mostly for the dressing - It was the best! I did use another suggestion of half Miracle Whip and half sour cream and doubled the amounts. For the base I used chicken, apples, green onions and water chestnuts. I will make this again - thanks for the recipe.

I have two complaints about this recipe. First, it was way too dry for our taste. I doubled the mayo dressing, and that fixed the dryness problem. Second, the poultry seasoning gave the salad a harsh taste. Perhaps if I hadn't doubled the dressing, it would have been okay. I'm going to try the recipe again, doubling the dressing and leaving out the poultry seasoning. The texture and crunch of the salad was wonderful. I'll repost after I try it again, without the poultry seasoning.

I thought this was really good. I left out the fruit and cheese, because I was making for sandwiches. I put a slice of Swiss cheese and some lettuce on the sandwich. I love water chestnuts so I really appreciated them in this salad. It was good just eating alone also.

We used red grapes in this. I thought it was very rich, but the kids loved it. After the meal, we realized we hadn't added the lemon juice! Great salad!

This was really a good recipe,I only gave it a four because I didn't make it as exactly like the recipe stated. I used sour cream instead of mayo as another reviewer suggested,I put in pecans, didn't use celery (preference),I used a yellow bell pepper, and pepper jack cheese! talk about gooooood! I took it to work with me today for lunch and my parents ate what was left and well, there is none left, surprized? you shouldn't be,it's a good one to make!

The WHOLE family loved it! Because my DD gave such a rave review my DH came home and tried it. He loved it! We did make some adjustments - but that was only based on what we had on hand not because we didn't think the original recipe would be off at all. We added apple chunks, no onions (preference), purple grapes, cheddar cheese (what I had!) and... oh ya, since we used canned chicken I'll back off the salt a bit next time. But if I cooked up some chicken myself I think the salt will be just perfect!
