'Scones fit into just about every meal,' assures Stephanie Moon from Nampa, Idaho. 'This dough bakes up beautifully into fully golden wedges. We love the tender triangles with butter and cinnamon-sugar,' she adds.

My family really enjoys these hearty scones--they're a nice change from the usual muffins and biscuits. They're nice to have on hand for when unexpected company drops in...which seems to be often!

MY FAMILY enjoys the distinctive taste of caraway, and it abounds in these muffins, which use rye flour for a change of pace. I serve them for brunch, lunch or dinner. I often try new recipes, but it's especially gratifying when a new dish is requested over and over again. -Jean Tyner, Darlington, South Carolina

I bake these simple fruit-filled scones during the holidays or any time our children come home for a visit. We all agree there's nothing better for breakfast than these scones, spread with homemade cranberry-orange butter.

IT WAS probably 45 years ago when the thrashers came to dinner at our house and Mother served this bread. Today, every time I bake it, I get nostalgic for those days. My parents were emigrants from Czechoslovakia and couldn't speak English very well. The thrashers hardly talked anyway - they were too busy enjoying Mother's delicious food! -Millie Feather, Baroda, Michigan
