I made exactly as written and wouldn't change a thing. This was a lot easier than I thought it would be!

GREAT! Perfect crunch without that chewiness. I am adding this to some popcorn that I covered in chocolate to make a mock Moose Munch. Great for teachers Valentine's!

Very Good! I live in Turkey now so its difficult to find corn syrup so I substituted it for honey. It turned out great, but tasted a little burnt to me... Maybe because I burnt some popcorn- I dont know.

I absolutely love this recipe as does my son. It tastes just like the caramel popcorn I used to get at a popcorn stand near my house when I was a kid. Thanks for the great recipe!

THis is delicious! I halfed the recipe using one bag of microwave popcorn, added roasted peanuts, and hubby couldn't wait until it cooled completely! Once it did cool... OMG! It really needs the full one hour in the oven. We had taken some out after the third stir and it just clung to our teeth. We will definitely be making this fairly often, and great for get-togethers with family and friends.

Excellent snack. Use less sugar and reduce Caramel for two bags of popcorn.

This was delicious and easy. I had never made carmel corn before and I was worried, but it turned out great. I used a big disposable aluminum Pasta Pan from the grocery store to cook it in and that made it very easy to handle large servings.

Awful. Not enough caramel to cover 5 quarts of popcorn. I followed the directions exactly. Awful. Will not try this again. What exactly is a "shallow" baking dish for this much popcorn. I don't know about the rest of you buy my oven will not hold two "shallow" baking dishes for this much popcorn. I wasted a bunch of pecans, not to mention some really good brown sugar on this recipe.

I used a salted microwave popcorn, so I omitted the salt from the recipe. It turned out amazing. My whole family raved about the popcorn. My husband said it was better than store bought.

I really like this but it came out on the grainy side. I'm not sure why, but I have made this several times with margarine and have not had that happen. It still tastes good, but would prefer it smooth. Also, with butter, you get a more toffe flavor and with margarine you get a true caramel flavor. I always cook caramel corn in a large, disposable roasting pan to make it easier to stir without having pieces spill out. Very good either way!

I've made this popcorn twice now, and it is very addicting! I've really only made one adjustment - the first time I made it I began baking as directed and the popcorn started getting really dry, especially after the 45 minute stir. The second time I made it I followed the review to up the temp to 300 degrees and bake for 20 minutes (stirring half-way) and that worked great! Enjoy!

This is a classic recipe. I too have made a similar version for years and it always turns out yummy. (Our dogs go nuts for it too!) Like some other reviewers, i also cut the amount of butter in half and it still rocks. Sometimes i add a little almond extract or cinnamon oil in addition to the vanilla to mix things up a bit. Habanero or cayenne is also good mixed in with the caramel (before mixing with the popcorn) for adventurous fellow chile heads!

This recipe is the best! I've been making this recipe for many years and everyone who taste it want the recipe! I also add whatever nuts I have on hand, i.e., cashews. Don't be intimidated to try it, as it's so easy!

i have been making this recipe for years, and my mother had been making it for years before that. i make multiple batches at christmas every year. i've passed it in to numerous people. the popcorn in the tins will never taste the same after enjoying this scrumptious recipe! be sure to turn down the heat really low for the boil, no stirring, or the caramel will burn.
