This was delicious. But as time consuming as it was to unwrap all those caramels (100) since I baked two pies, it is not THAT much better than a traditional pecan pie. Also, I did cut the sugar a bit, and I'm glad I did. I cannot imagine how sweet it would have been with all that sugar, because my pies were plenty sweet and I am a sugar fiend!! Very good though, just too time consuming.
