I've never made this and not been asked for the recipe. I use 1/2 cup brown sugar instead of 3/4 cup white. The best pecan pie ever!!!

this was not good. the texture was weird. i'm not sure if maybe i did something wrong, but i followed the instructions exactly. the texture was too thick, and not like regular pecan pie at all. my dh is a huge pecan pie fan, and i made this for him. he didn't like it at all. his sister also tried it, and she said it was ok. we threw most of it away.

I've been using this recipe for 3 years now. I use brown sugar instead of white and add an extra 1/2 cup of pecans. It's easy to make and it's always a hit. Follow directions exactly. You don't have to use my changes above.

I made this pie for my pecan pie loving boyfriend who was a huge fan! The only thing that I might recommend (and that I'll be sure to do if I ever make this again) is to use a deep dish pie pan- the regular sized one was overflowing after baking!

I cut the pie crust into little circles, so they would fit into a mini muffin pan. I used Smuckers topping like someone else suggested. The mini-pecan pies were a BIG BIG hit!!

This is the best pecan pie. I was worried that it would depart too much from the traditional pecan pie which I love, but it's better to me. It still has the classic pecan pie taste, but the filling has that hint of caramel and a better texture. I've never been a fan of the jelly-like texture that corn syrup gives the traditional pecan pie. This pie's texture is creamier. It's delicious and so easy to make.

My future husband requested a carmel pecan pie for Thanksgiving. Having never heard of such a thing, I thought he was loony, but then I found this recipe! It was absolutely delicious, in fact, the decision was it was as good or better than the standard pecan pie I've made for years. (Karo style) I took the advice of the other reviewers and made the quick carmel sauce to drizzle over the top...YUMMO! This is absolutely going in my recipe box. My FH told me this pie was so good it made him fall in love all over again!

I made this pie THREE times over the holidays and I could not get it right. I liked the flavor enough to keep trying. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. The first time I followed the recipe exactly and it was like soup. The second time I cooked it longer and it was still runny. The third time I put less camel in it and it didn’t taste good and was still a little runny. I always follow recipes exactly and I’ve never had a problem even with the most difficult recipes.

Outstanding! Followed the recipe exactly, and everyone enjoyed the twist on pecan pie. I disagree with other comments on it being too sweet. We all thought it was just right!

What an unbelievable Pie! I dont think I will ever make the traditional pie again. The caramel gave it a great taste and I also followed others suggestions by using 1/2 cup sugar.

Like Leila I too used 2/3 of a jar of Smucker's carmel sauce cut the sugar to 1/2 cup and used an 8oz bag of pecan halves. This pie was really great! I was worried it would taste to carmelly (if that's a word) but it tasted just like traditional pecan pie. Delicious! This is a keeper! Thanks for sharing!
