This was delicious. I doubled the recipe for a party and everyone loved it. Everyone thought I had to work hard to make such a great dessert, but it was so simple! I will make this again.

Simple but delicious. I really enjoyed the crumb mixture. I may make some to have on hand as a regular ice cream topping too. Thanks for sharing

Served this at a party and all ages loved it!! I added Hot Fudge in addition to the Caramel. Also, used a "box" of ice cream which is now 1.5 quarts; it was plenty.

My mother also passed this recipe down to me, except her recipe calls for caramel AND butterscotch drizzled on the top and bottom. This has been my absolute favorite receipe of all time! It's very rich and perfect for every occassion. I've never made it and not had somebody ask for the recipe. One helpful tip is to separate the pecan crumble mix in half before putting the dessert together, to ensure you have enough for the top. And to help the crumble mix stick together better when you cut the dessert, put the crumbles down first and then drizzle the caramel and butterscotch. Do the same on the top. Smuckers now makes a squeeze bottle container of caramel (made for decorating) which makes the drizzling a lot easier. Prior to the squeeze bottle I had to use the glass container, which always left a big glob of caramel when you first started the drizzle. It still tasted great, but I'm a perfectionist and it drove me crazy. :-) I can't say enough good things about this recipe. It's been a family favorite since I was a little girl and it is ALWAYS FABULOUS!

This dessert won rave reviews from my guests. In fact they took the print out home with them. I substituted vanilla frozen yogourt for the ice cream & it was delicious.
