5 friends and I have baked cookies 5 Christmases in a row now, and this has been a staple cookie for us since day 1! They're so simple and fun to make and oh-so-delicious. They're best right out of the oven, but just as good when kept - just microwave for 10 secs or so to re-melt the caramel.

We used Caramellos but we only bought two king size and we ran out of squares so we made the cookies a little bit larger (which helped with the carmel not spilling out) and just added a minute to the baking time. As long as none of the chocolate corners were sticking out or touching the outside of the ball, then they were ok. If they were, then the carmel would spill out. Everybody loved these cookies a ton!

This is the best cookie recipe I have ever used. My uncle asks me to make them for him everytime he sees me, but they usually don't last the car ride.

Taste great but kind of hard to make. Getting the cookie dough around the Rolo is harder than it sounds.

did not look appetizing and must be eaten when warm. when they cool down they go hard and aren't good any more. i used caramilks and they were the best part of the recipe. i should have just eaten a caramilk bar and it would have been more satisfying.

We have made these for Christmas for the last 5 years. We love them! This year we used Hershey Kisses with Caramel. Every other year we used Rolos. I think the kisses made for a little bit softer caramel center. We did, however, love both versions. Also good without being rolled in nuts.

I have made these the past two christmas' and always get great feedback on them. The dough does get a bit sticky so you have to work fast, but I have found that if I spray my hands with Pam cooking spray it is much easier to work with. Lets face it, your hands are going to get messy anyway while making these cookies anyway so why not do whatever you can to make it easier on yourself! These cookies are great and well worth the mess!!

These cookies were great, everyone loved them. For half of the dough I used mini reese's peanut butter cups, also very good. Also chopped the pecans in small pieces for the cookie and fine little pieces for the top for those who don't love nuts.

This was a MESS!! They melted all over the cookie sheet. The caramel stuck and made it nearly impossible to remove the cookies to eat. We peeled the cookies in chunks and ate some....it tasted good but you couldn't serve these to anyone.

I had to go to 3 different stores to find Rolos, but glad I did. I didn't have the same problem as some others with the cookies hardening. Received lots of compliments.

Everyone loved these, and they were pretty easy to make! I didn't have rolos, so I just used caramels. Still very yummy. Store them in a container with a little chunk of bread and they'll last longer, and they're very yummy heated up just a few seconds in the microwave.

These cookies were BEYOND fantastic!! We made them last minute for a final addition to our christmas cookies tins, and i am SO glad we did!! they got the most compliments out of all the different types we made. We also had to add more flour (my mom thinks she added about 1/2 cup more...she just added until it "felt right"). In the end, had absolutely NO problem with the cookies being dry, and our caramel centers never turned hard, as others had complained about. We rolled the entire cookie in nuts rather than just dipping the tops in (I'm a design major and couldn't handle that sometimes the nuts were "off-center"). I just can't say enough good things about this recipe...and neither can each of my family members! We got several requests for the recipe. I will definitley make these often (and I'm not really a sweets fan)!! Thanks!

I have made these the last 2 years in a row for cookie exchange parties. I used mini peanut cups last year and they were great. This year I did the PB cups again and also tried the Rolo's. I think I will stick to the PB cups next time. The rolos leaked out the bottom and made quite a mess. The taste was great though. I will probably make these again next year!

These went on my Christmas cookie plates this year. The dough is very easy to work with and covers the candy quite well. The cookie tastes like a brownie with caramel in the middle. I would recommend cooling them on a flat surface, not wire racks. The caramel oozed out of some of the cookies and got stuck on the wire.

I had to add another 1/4 cup of flour, but other than that, these were great! I've got orders from family to make more. For future reference... mini rolos need about 20g of dough and normal rolos need 25g. I sliced the dough and wrapped it around the rolo - had very few that spilled out but they still tasted good. Enjoy. We did and will again. Thanks

this recipe was very time consuming but the end result was wonderful. After chilling the dough i found spraying pam on my handswhile I form the cookies and put them on the cookie pan worked wonderfully and had hardly any problems with the dough being hard to work with. I had no problems with leekage and used Milkyway Caramels along with Rolo's and Reeses peanut butter cups. Everyone loved them! The only problem I had was the middle cooking completely. Some said that they seemed a but undercooked, maybe I will leave them in longer. Great recipe, will do again for next christmas!!
