Serve warm or cool, topped with powdered sugar or whipped cream. For best results use a tart baking apple such as Cortland, Rome, or Northern Spy.

Apples spiced with cinnamon are baked with a crunchy cornflake layer in pastry shell, topped with a sweet almond glaze and cut into bars -- like apple pie you can eat with your hands.
