Can't Leave Alone Bars
SUBMITTED BY:
Kimberly Biel
"Convenient cake mix hurries along the preparation of these tasty bars from Kimberly Biel. 'I bring these quick-and-easy treats to church meetings, potlucks and housewarming parties. I often make a double batch so we can enjoy some at home,' writes the Java, South Dakota cook."

DIRECTIONS
In a bowl, combine the dry cake mix, eggs and oil. With floured hands, press two-thirds of the mixture into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Set remaining cake mixture aside.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the milk, chocolate chips and butter. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 45 seconds; stir. Microwave 45-60 seconds longer or until chips and butter are melted; stir until smooth. Pour over crust.
Drop by teaspoonfuls of remaining cake mixture over top. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool before cutting.

This is super yumo! I used a yellow cake mix with white chocolate chips the first time I made it and a red velvet mix with white chips the next. They were both awesome. There are endless possiblites with this recipe. Whatever flavors you like together will work.

They're as good as they are easy to make! I sprinkled toffee bits on top before baking and they turned out GREAT!!! I do recommend waiting until they cool to cut them as they are somewhat soft when they first come out of the oven.

These were a HUGE hit. I almost didn't get one because everyone was taking 2 or 3. Next time, I'll make a double batch! They're certainly easy enough! I agree that they would probably be good with other flavor combos...I'm thinking carrot cake & cinnamon chips?? or how about chocolate cake mix & peanut butter chips?? The possiblities are endless!

This turned out very good. I love it because it is so flexible. You can use any flavor cake mix. You can use butter in place of oil. You can use any type of gooey center (Chocolate, peanut-butter, mint chips, toffee, etc.) This recipe is simple and very tasty.

Very rich and gooey! It would be fun to experiment with different flavors of cake mix and/or chips.

Hey, I tried submitting this recipe! No wonder mine has sat in review for a year! LOL :) This recipe is so good, have been making it for years. Versatile too, you can use chocolate cake mix and butterscotch chips for something different.

I made this recipe as written by the submitter and found it to be tasty, but a bit boring. I think other flavor combos would be excellent, like others have suggested, such as yellow cake mix and chocolate, chocolate cake and peanut butter chips, or chocolate cake and mint chips.
