Made this last night for hubby and two of his friends with an entire bag of chicken tenderloins (3 lbs, I think) and there were only two pieces leftover! Needless to say they loved it. Didn't brown the chicken ahead of time, and only used 3/4 c. of brown sugar, but doubled the other recipes b/c we like our sauce. Also added a teaspoon of corn starch (needed more) and a tablespoon or so of Sriracha for some spice. Also subbed pineapple juice for the water and poured the sauce over the chicken and pineapple rings so it could all bake together. Was great served over brown rice and with green beans. Definitely a keeper, and so easy!

I did not bread the chicken, but otherwise followed the recipe. The sauce was tasty, but it came out way too thin I thought. I served this over rice.

This was way too sweet and I only added 1/2 cup of brown sugar instead of 3/4 cup.

This is a good dish, but a tad too sweet (as sweet as candy... not ironic, given the title!). I really liked the sauce, though, even though it was sweet :) I think the sauce would be excellent basted on wings, maybe even with some red pepper flakes added for spiciness. I could do without the pineapple - I guess it's a matter of preference. This is deserving of 4 stars b/c of the versatility of the sauce as a base for another recipe of mine. Serve with a baked potato and green vegetable (i.e. green beans, asparagus or broccoli) or a tossed salad for a very filling meal. Probably would be a big hit with kids. Thanks for sharing!

I was looking for a recipe that used ingredients I already had at home so I didn't have to go to the grocery store. I found this recipe and followed it pretty exact, only left out the pineapple and I cut my chicken breasts in thirds because they were pretty big. I was very pleased with the results. The whole family loved it, even my 6 year old and 1 year old. I will definitely make this again.

Made this today for a quick, informal family get-together and it was way too sweet for my taste. Fortunately, I had another meat available. This recipe got mixed reviews depending on the age of the reviewer. The kids (teenagers) seemed to love it, with all the sugar. The adults were merely being polite, but I could tell it wasn't a hit by the amount of the dish left over. I give it 3 stars because I will probably make it again when I need something to do with chicken breasts quickly, and the fact that the children will inhale it with all the sweetness.

My husband loved this dish, my son wouldn't eat it, and I thought it was OK. I will probably make it again but I will omit the oregano. I only made 3 chicken breasts and I followed the other suggestions and made the larger amount of sauce. I honestly think that this chicken would be better if it didn't have the breading. It would taste very similar to sweet and sour chicken. I served this over rice. Not bad but not Amazing.

Candied chicken breasts is a good recipe and definitely one of my favorites. I really enjoyed the aroma that this dish creates and all the different flavors combined is very tasty! I gave it 4 stars because I would have liked the sauce to be thicker. I added some cooking sherry wine to mine and it turned out great. I actually bought crushed pineapples which was actually very good! I meant to buy the chunks but the crushed work out very well! I did not fry and I baked the chicken for 45min -1 hour and it turned out very moist. I did not add any mustard. Definitely worth making...very easy to make. But I just wish the sauce was thicker! Perhaps I will add more ketchup and less water next time.

I love this recipe with a few changes, I did not bread the chicken just started it in the pan, then I added some yellow and red peppers and a can of pineapple chuncks. Baked in the oven and yummo.

This recipe is outstanding! Used crushed pineapple and mixed in with the sauce. Great for my son who doesn't think fruit can be cooked and still taste good. My family loved it!
