This is a nice change of pace from the hamburger stew I have been making for years. I have always added tomato sauce and a dab of ketchup, but tomato soup...Duh !!! I used 2 cans of mixed veggies and used the liquid from them to rinse the soup cans out instead of water. Great 'Girl Scout' recipe(I'm an ex myself!) Thanks for posting. It is in the keeper box!!!!

I used to have this stew all the time as a child,a cheap way to feed a large family. The easy version is to brown your beef, add 2 cans of alphabet soup(2 cans of water),a cup of raw macaroni and a large can of tomatoes with the juice, cover and simmer till macaroni is to desired doneness.Adding onion or green pepper to the groung beef adds more flavor too. Very yummy and reminds me of childhood.

I made this recipe, and it was easy to make, pretty quick, but absolutely NOTHING SPECIAL. It was pretty much like a vegetable soup, except with ground beef. I won't make it again. It is just filling and O.K. Nothing standout.

This recipe was really good! We have been trying to eat good food on a budget and this fits the bill. I served it with egg noodles as well. It's a little salty, but it's nothing an ice cold glass of milk couldn't fix.

Really good. I biffed when I went to the grocery and forgot to get the vegetable beef soup, so instead decided to put in an additional can of tomato soup and also a can of chili beans. It was great mix between vegetable stew and chili. My step-dad, who is a very picky eater, loved it and went back for seconds. I also added 1/4 cup milk and ate it with fritos. This is definitely something I will be making again. Cheap, quick, easy and delicious. [=

Highly recommended. I also served it with rice. My husband raved about it. I will definitely make this again. I had stewing beef on hand, so I used this instead of the ground. I also used frozen mixed veggies instead of canned. I made this last week, but had to come back and write a review. It was fast, tasty and filling.

This was instantly a family favorite. My husband loved it as well as the finicky kids. Now they all get excited when I tell them I am making this recipe, and it is SO EASY! Thanks from a busy mom!!!

This was a quick meal that was very good. I added some extra vegetables that I needed to use up, otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly; it's one of those recipes that you can add to to meet your taste. I will be keeping the items on hand to make it when I need a fast meal.

My family and my daughters boyfriend really enjoyed this. I did as you mentioned I added a can of corn drained and extra hamburger and it was great. We eat ours over No Yolks Noodles. Just make sure if you use noodles, you add enough salt. Not just a pinch so your noodles don't come out tasting bland. Will cook it again...

My family loved this very fast and easy to make dinner. Instead of 1/4 cup of water, I put an entire cup of water in order to let it simmer for about 30 minutes. I also added 1 can of corn (drained). We eat it with white rice. It made for a cheap and filling supper!
