They were tasty but a bit too cakey for me. I forgot to add the oil as suggested. I wonder if that would have made a difference.

Great recipe! If using a version of Chocolate cake mix, try rolling your cookies in powdered sugar before you bake them...you won't be disappointed!

I hereby dub thee Lazy Cake & Bake cookies, and therefore I LOVE them! Add the 2T veg. oil and 1t vanilla extract, it does ensure moist cookies. I did a choc. fudge cake mix with 1t of mint extract and walnuts - AWESOME. Also did a butter yellow cake mix with Ghirardelli choc. chips mixed in - equally AWESOME! So many variations for time-challenged and kitchen-intimidated persons like myself - I can't wait to try more!

Super easy. I made smaller cookies and made a cream cheese frosting to go in the middle, kinda like oreos, so good! (keep cold)

I have made these before but today when I needed to make these in a pinch (a group my daughter's friends came over) I had to improvise a bit. I only had one egg! So I used the 1/2 c butter, one egg and then used 1/4c (just slightly more) of applesauce. I didn't even have apple sauce around, but I DID have apples.... so I sliced 2 apples, sprinkled with a bit of sugar and cinnamon and cooked in the microwave for a few minutes. I mashed those, added to the rest of the ingredients and viola... I had great cookies for the kids! I love this recipe cuz it is so easy! (and **usually** have the ingredients around to make at any time!

After all the stellar reviews, I was surprised when these cookies turned out to be just... ok. I used triple chocolate cake mix (with peanut butter chips), but they weren't very chocolatey at all-- just kind of bland and generic-tasting. If I were to do it over again I'd probably add chocolate chips, as well, for an extra burst of flavor. But I'll probably be moving on from this recipe.
