This is the recipe you need for that last minute bake sale that you just found out about! This cookie is as close to the best in brownie as you can get! Firm enough to pick up but melt in your mouth moist and gooey tender. Chocolate perfection. I added about a teaspoon of vanilla to the recipe. I cooked them at 350 for 9 minutes because I have a hot oven. Just ccok them until they are set not brown. 1 minute to many will make a huge difference. Let them cool. There was no cake mix taste at all! This is a great secret emergency recipe for bake sales, class room parties, potlucks, guest coming over with short notice, new neighbors and hungry after school children. The hungry children can even be taught to make it themselves in minutes. With an 88 cent mix and 1/2 hour you have lots of fantiasic "homemade" cookies. I even wipped up a second batch while the first was cooking without difficulty.

These are good and very simple. I chilled the dough for several hours before baking. I think that helps them from spreading as I like cookies round and puffy. I baked them on parchment paper and mine took closer to 12 minutes each batch to bake.

I really enjoyed this recipe, it was very easy and I love anything that comes out well with minimal effort. I would suggest that you be careful what kind of cake mix you use, because some of them have a more salty taste because they're supposed to "taste like butter" or have a dark chocolate flavor. If you taste your mix and it's a little salty, I would recommend either more brown sugar as suggested in the recipe, or using more chips (I definitely would not recommend cutting the amount of chips). I used a dark chocolate mix that was a little salty, so I used white chocolate to boost the sweet flavor and they came out very well. I also moved my baking rack up one to prevent the bottoms from burning. My cookies were crunchy when they came out of the oven. I was fine with that, but I stored them in a plastic container overnight and now they're soft and chewy.

These cookies were YUMMY!!! I just got done making a batch. They are so simple to make and come out soft and chewy, but not flat. I added tbsp of veg. oil and 1/4 tsp. of vanilla as others mentioned. I also added choc. chips and vanilla chips. One batch made about 50 cookies. Definitely a keeper. Thanks for the recipe!

Very soft & chewy. I needed to cook longer than 10 minutes...more like 12 minutes and they were still very gooey. Son thought they were great!

These really exceeded my expectations! I doubled the recipe (added vanilla) and tossed it in the KitchenAid stand mixer . I used two boxes of Pillsbury Moist Supreme Devils Food Cake & I added in a whole bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips and half bag of mini M&M's, which was the perfect amount for a double batch. I slightly pressed the cookies with the bottom of a cup after placing on the cookie sheet and baked for 8-9 minutes. These were thick, soft, good looking cookies that tasted just like yummy brownies. I will make these often & am looking forward to trying other flavors. Thanks for sharing this recipe!!!

These are AWESOME! I was looking for something different to do with cake mix and this was it! I followed the recipe exactly except for the suggestion to add 2 tbsp oil which was a great suggestion. These cookies came out moist and delicious. I will definitely make them again.

The dough was extremely thick, so I couldn't stir in the chips. I ended up adding the chips to the outside/top of the cookies. They flattened out better than I thought they would, but they were still more dense than I personally like. Not the worst cookies ever.

I decorate cakes and have found that Betty Crocker has by far the best tasting cake mix on the market. It also makes the best tasting cake mix cookies. I use different flavored cake mixes and they all turn out great.

I've been looking for the perfect boxed cake cookies, and I think I've found it! I used Devil's Food Cake (chocolate cake), and mint chips (Andes Creme de Menthe chips). If you're a mint person, you will LOVE the combo! The most easy and tasty cookie, I highly recommend!

I admit I was a bit skeptical before I made these cookies. That all changed after I tried one of these little bits of heaven. They are so chocolately (used B.C. chocolate fudge) and chewy with a brownie-like texture. You can't even tell these were semi-homemade and every bit as good as homemade. I can't wait to experiment with other flavors like butter cake mix with pecans.

I just finished baking these, and I am very impressed! I just so happen to have all the ingredients in my house and it's my cousin's bday tomorrow, so I decided to bake them for her and I'm so happy I did! I love how moist they turned out and I can't wait to make them again. One thing I learned was that if I dropped the dough by the spoonful in mounds, they pretty much stayed that way but if I flattened them a little, they get too flat and become very delicate. So, I'm guessing the way to go is somewhere in between to get the right size and shape of the cookie.

These are L-O-V-E-L-Y! I'd been craving some chocolate cookies for a few days but didn't want a complicated recipe. I stumbled on this one this morning, got a pack of Devil's food mix and hey, presto! They're gorgeous, easy and quick. However, I forgot to put the choc chips in - don't ask me how!!! I can only imagine how wonderful they'll be when I do them right! And the house smelled delicious too!

Nice and easy cookies.Great activity with the kids. I used mine as cookie sandwiches and followed the information of a previous review and used oil instead of butter. One thing I would say is to sift the cake mix as it is hard to get the lumps out. But other than that...will definatly make this again!!
