2% low-fat milk
chicken soup base (paste)
regular grits, uncooked
andouille sausage, cut into 1/4-inch slices
diced green bell pepper
diced yellow onion
jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
1 (14.5 ounce) can
fire-roasted diced tomatoes, with juice
dry white wine
salt and ground black pepper to taste
fresh large shrimp, shelled and deveined
shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
grated Parmesan cheese
chopped fresh chives
This is the best recipe! I had never used cheese grits in my shrimp and grits and I love it this way! I lightened it up a bit with lowfat cheese, chicken andouille sausage and 1 % milk. Delicious!
I love the shrimp and the spices 'BUT the grits well not so much
