Great recipe but a little too salty and the thyme was overpowering. There is enough salt in the hot pepper sauce so I think garlic powder would be better than the garlic salt and then 1 teaspoon of thyme instead of 2. Next time I will also use a lot more hot sauce but all in all it was a great recipe and I will make again next catfish season. Thanks for a great recipe!

After reading a lot of reviews, I expected this to be an awesome recipe but was very disappointed. The ingredients just didn't go well with catfish, it was way too overpowering. This is better suited for chicken. It took away from the actual fish, I felt like I was eating cayenne pepper from the container.

This had a good amount of heat, but didn't find it as flavorful as I expected.

Wish I could give it more than 5 stars. I made this for myself last night because the family wanted fried catfish. I'm trying to change my diet so I opted out of the fried. I was very skeptical because I've only tried baked fish a few times in my life and I hated it. From the first bite, I loved this. I will now be making this a staple of mine. It's quick, easy and sooo good for you. Thanks.

This is a fine recipe if you don't love catfish. The problem is that if you do love catfish (and I do), the spices completely mask the flavor of the fish. On the plus side, it is very easy, very quick.

Ridiculously simple and easy -- especially great when making a multi-dish meal with more complicated sides. I took the advice of reviewers and replaced garlic salt with garlic powder. I actually also replaced most of the seasonings (all but garlic powder and thyme) with my accidentally-nuclear-hot homemade chili powder, as this mimicked a lot of the same ingredients and proportions and was already mixed up. (And, I just wanted to use it up -- it's been the culprit in one inedibly-hot vegetarian chili incident already.) Cooked the fish for about 16-18 minutes and was done perfectly in my oven. Going the fork-flake route for done-ness testing was more useful than the time recommendation for me. (Often the case for fish, regardless of what random rental oven I am working with at the time.) Next time I might add a dash of lime before serving. Still, this is a great fast-and-easy fish recipe that will impress your guests, probably even without my half-random modifications. Definitely give this one shot!

Was a little salty for our taste; will make again using 1 teaspoon of garlic salt, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of lemon pepper to replace the 1/4 teaspoon of cracked black. I always feel once a dinner gets to the plate is better to add salt than be too salty because it is such a simple 'fix'.

Spicy goodness! I needed a touch more oil to be able to spread this... maybe because I added some Old Bay. Cooked perfectly in 15 minutes in an insulated pan lined with foil. A little too spicy for my kiddo but the husband and I loved it.

This was surprisingly delicious! I found catfish filets in the freezer that were THREE YEARS OLD so I had pretty low expectations of how this would turn out. The flavor of the spices was amazing, I was eating the piping hot fish right out of the pan. I didn't have garlic salt so I used Old Bay instead, and olive oil instead of canola. Just a warning though, it wasn't that great reheated the next day...but that's possibly due to the expired fish I used. I will definitely try this again with fresh filets!

I love to eat fish. I am not crazy about catfish but I have to say this was very good. My family enjoyed it very much. Thank you. I also tryed it on salmon it was good. The flavor is excellent. I forgot to mention I dip my fish in egg and a little milk before rubbing the spice. This is a keeper.

I did not have catfish, so I used blue hake. My only other change was I broiled rather than baked the fish. Quick, easy recipe that I will make again!
