good basic recipe, but what my mom always did so not to waste, was shred remaining lettuce , about 2 c. and add it to the sauce. I used 1 28 oz can sauce and 1 28 oz can of plum tomatoes w/ juice (make sure to cut up the tomatoes.) You can also sprinkle 1/2 cup of rice in the sauce. When all is cooked through, every bit of this dish is finished. Don't be afraid to spice up the sauce also. I include garlic in almost everything!
