My family really enjoyed these. I tripled the recipe for the sauce since my crock cooks hot and tends to burn things. However, I think doubling the recipe would have been plenty. My children thought it was a little spicy so I think 1 1/4 tsp. black pepper may be a little much for us. Oh, and in response to some of the other reviewers question about whether or not to cook the meat first. This is suppose to be like a steamed meat. That is why it is cooked so long on a low temp. Put your meat in raw so it sticks togeather when done.

These are great! Just like the ones my Grandma made--I did double the sauce.

These were good, but did not compare to what mom used to make. I used dirty rice instead of white and used some V-8 in the sauce. Everyone in my family loved them. My husband suggested next time just cut up the cabbage and cook it all together with the rice, sauce and ground beef. That would definitely be easier! I think next time I will try that. Overall, these were good, but a little too much trouble.

Yum - I used prego tomato sauce w/a little worchestire sauce and beef broth. I rolled uncooked beef/rice into cabbage and placed it in the crock pot - I set it on 6hours and viola... it was ready.

No problems at all with recipe. Of course, I've made this type of recipe before and knew how to properly cut the cabbage leaves. You need to trim the "spine" of the thickest center part, in order for it to cook, and to bend, when you roll them up. They were so delicious!

I liked this dish, although I found that I had a lot of meat left over for some reason. My husband wasn't too fond of the dish because he felt the sauce was too sour.

Absolutely wonderful! We just got our first slow cooker and I found this recipe after searching the site for crockpot recipes. I had never made cabbage rolls before, but these turned out exactly like the ones I remember eating as a kid. My wife loved them too, although they were a little too pepper-y for our kids. But I will definitely be making this again.

Am I to understand that you don't brown the ground beef before you cook these? I did, and they turned out fine, so I'm anxious to try it again properly. Either way, looking forward to making it again, doubling the sauce and adding spices (garlic, onion soup mix) to the meat. I've never made these before and I think this is a great recipe to begin with!

I didn't particularly like this recipe. I thought it was much too bland, and my husband who will usually eat just about anything and enjoy it wouldn't even it eat.

I'm not sure where some folks went wrong on this recipe, but it turned out just fine for me. I cooked the onion w/the ground beef and added minced garlic. I would recommend decreasing the amount of pepper and doubling the sauce. The next time I make this I think I will make some extra sauce to spoon over the rolls when reheating. It really is delicious. Thanks for sharing!

We used the recipe exactly and it was TERRIBLE! The rolls on the top and sides were burnt to a crisp and the ones that weren't burnt were so bland. I looked forward to this all day and I am so incredibly disappointed.

Very bland. I grew up in a Polish family and these were a staple at family gatherings. I doubled the sauce even without reading the reviews. I like my sauce thicker, so I added some cornstarch to thicken it up. I also boiled my cabbage before rolling. Sorry, I won't be making your recipe again.

I can't really give this a fair rating because I cooked this on the stove top rather than in the crockpot. I also altered the recipe, using boiled, shredded cabbage and adding that to the rest of the mix. Nevertheless, it was a great combination and next time I will try it as written.

I work nights and am ALWAYS looking for crockpot recipes. My hubby said he enjoyed it. I sleep through dinner, so I ate it for lunch later. It was good the second (first) time around for me. I wish I had gotten more sauce, but that could have just been my hubby not putting it in the container he put my lunch in. Anyways, we'll make it again!

I love this recipe, The first time I made it exact. This time I made small variations. I didn't use a slow cooker, roaster and oven instead. I added a pinch of cinnion to the meat and for the sauce I added extra sauce and used the stuff with herbs and spices already added. The meat turned out nice and moist, not at all dry and the sauce tasted great. I will recommend to all my frinds. Thanks for the great recipe. :)

My husband and kids were not impressed with this dinner. I 3x the recipe so I had no problems with sticking or rolls being over cooked. Just not a winner in my home. I thought it was okay. Maybe my family would have liked it more if it had been more of a sweet and sour sauce?

I followed the recipe exactly. The sauce was burnt to a crisp all the way around the slow cooker liner, burnt on the top of the cabbage, and yet the rolls were raw in the centers.

I liked this recipe a lot. It was very tasty and easy. I made 3x the sauce, and I sauted the beef and onions together. I also added a little garlic and parmesean cheese. My husband really enjoyed it-and surprisingly so did my 4 year old son(whos diet consists of PB&J and Mac& Cheese)Thanks for a great recipe!
