I made this as a child in 4-H and won my first gold medal! I too, like the woman who posted this recipe, add the toasted almonds (toast them my self and use the sliced ones). Her original recipe is almost identical to mine. Tiny difference is I use rice vinegar and olive oil. It's become a family favorite! We live in Europe now, so, I can't buy pre-cooked chicken cubes, so what I've taken to doing (which is WAY better!!) buying fresh chicken strips, dipping them in olive oil, and sprinkling a little crushed sea salt, pepper, and garlic/onion powder mix and then placing on the grill. Once they are done (5-7 minutes), chop them up and toss in salad. This is way more healthy than vegetable oil and pre-packaged/cooked chicken with all it's preservatives and tasted that much better. Super yummy! PS It's even better the next day!!

I thought this was pretty good, but my husband didn't like it at all. I was expecting a little more from it. I had a similar recipe, that I've lost, so I was trying to re-create it, and I failed with this recipe. It is a good recipe, just not was I was hoping! Thanks, though.

My only concern about this recipe was if I was suppose to cook the noodles. I didn't and still thought the salad was great. Next time I will use cider vinegar. I though the dressing should be a little sweeter so I tried adding some pineapple juice to it. I probably should have added more because I couldn't really taste a difference. Would definitely make again!!

This is my recipe (meaning I was the one who submitted it...long story short it was altered by Simple and Delicious (not by allrecipes.com) and I don't particularly like the changes. I, too, like to add toasted almonds. I also put 3 Tbsp apple cider vinegar instead of 1/3 cup white vinegar. Lower the sugar to 1 Tbsp when you do this, though. I've served this twice in the last month at potlucks and have had a ton of people ask for the recipe. Oh, one more thing...the new prepackaged bags of angel hair cabbage makes exactly 6 cups of cabbage, so you can easly triple the recipe for a pot luck.

I love this salad!! The only change I made was adding toasted slivered almonds. This salad goes real fast every time I make it and is a sure fire hit when ever I take it to a potluck.

Very good, amybe a tad heavy on the vinegar, but otherwise wonderful, just like the recipe I grew up eating, only instead of sesame seeds we always used toasted almonds.
