"A flavorful sweet-and-sour cabbage soup. Years ago a local restaurant served a cabbage apple soup that I've been trying to recreate. This is my best attempt, and possibly even better! For a vegetarian version, simply omit the bacon."

There were some unexpected ingredients for this soup so I just had to try it. Glad I did! This will be a go to!
Very good. Loved the addition of the apple, and especially the fragrant caraway seeds. I mushed up the caraway seeds with a mortar and pestle, then added the caraway to the soup mixture. Fabulous! Did not serve the soup over bread, but served the soup with my homemade bread as a side! Very nice!
It was good! I liked it. Good mourning soup for the ride to work to get the body moving. Better then coffee
This was surprisingly good, my whole family enjoyed it. A real comfort food.
