Now that I've retired from teaching, I have more time to bake. This cake is the one I make most often. It is a truly Southern recipe, and one I think can't be topped - once people taste it, they won't go back to their other recipes.

This was my mother's recipe. You may eat it as is or put a fudge frosting on it.

This a really good down-home style, back to basics pound cake that my whole family enjoys! This recipe was handed down to me with the stipulation of placing the cake in a cold oven, and it turns out perfectly every time.

This cake is absolutely delicious. Don't over-mix. I even use cold ingredients. Batter looks like smooth whipped butter. This recipe was given to me by a co-worker. If you like it just call it your 'My Pound Cake'.

This is my Mom's recipe from about 1930. It rises high in the tube pan, is moist, and smells heavenly baking.
