Just made these for the family and they are delicious! A really good recipe that you can add your own special touch to! Next time I'm adding cinnamon to the batter!

These are very good. If/When I have extra buttermilk, I will definitely make these. Also, I made the recipe as is for the first 14 and they turned out great. For the last 4 pancakes, I added some vanilla extract. I don't think it made much difference so this recipe is GREAT AS IS! Maybe scaled down to 4 servings for the next time my family of 4 makes this recipe.

sorry, i followed this recipe to the T and these pancakes turned out with no flavor whatsoever. They were light and fluffy and a great consistency, but they were very very bland. even my 4 yr old said they 'had no taste'....sorry. wish i could give a better rating.

What is Shrove Tuesday without pancakes and this is the best recipe by far. Made these exactly as written and the pancakes were over 1/2 inch high. It was hard to try and spread, so left them quite thick adn turned down the temp a bit. Hard to judge when to flip, as compared to thinner pancakes. I have 3 men (2 teenage football players) and for our family of 5 this was a perfect batch size. Don't usually buy buttermilk as I never aquired the taste for it, unlike my Irish father, so to tip the hat to Grandpa, we'll add to our favorites.

Great recipe - I used part buttermilk and buttermilk substitute as hadn't bought enough (1 tablespoon of lemon and just under 1 cup semi skimmed milk left for 5 minutes).

Made these exactly as the recipe called for. Let the batter rest for about 20 minutes. Amazing, the best pancakes I have ever made, and simple. I turn them early so they rise after being turned. Light, fluffy, and tasty. Nothing better.

I substituted 2 cups buckwheat flour and 1 cup rice flour for the the called-for all-purpose, to make this recipe gluten free and it was delicious! :)

This recipe resulted in flat and greasy pancakes. I will stick with the Good Old Fashioned Pancakes recipe which is by far a better recipe.

The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because the pancakes came out a little on the flat side. Other than that, they were quite good. Will definitely keep this recipe.

I've made a lot of homemade pancakes and these by far are the best. They are light, fluffy and just have an overall awesome texture. I didn't have buttermilk on hand so I just used vinegar and milk and worked out perfectly. The only thing that I found was that the liquid/dry ingredients ratio was a bit off. I had about 1/4 c extra liquid, but no biggie. Thanks so much for this recipe. It will definitely be my go to recipe for all pancakes I make.

really - the best pancakes EVER. No need to let the batter rest - they are great as is. I did add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla and an extra 1/2 tsp of sugar to the dry batter but other than that it was PERFECT. Thanks!

This turned out delicious!!!! I even forgot to add the baking soda, and the pancakes were still light and fluffy. My one year old almost ate a whole pancake on his own! Top these pancakes with the buttermilk syrup recipe for a yummy treat:)

Super great recipe! I'll try to have buttermilk on hand when I have guests so I can make this again and again. Makes a good amount of batter, which is great!

These pancakes are great! Very light and fluffy and I love that they get crispy around the edges. I added blueberries to the batter and served with whipped cream. Yum! Will use this recipe a lot--I bought some buttermilk just to have on hand to make these.
