My family loved this recipe. I used home grown frozen butter beans. I cooked them in water until they were soft and then followed the directions. I had to add 12 crackers instead of six and I left out the pepper so the children could eat them. Good recipe

Coating the patties in breadcrumbs and chilling them in the fridge before cooking helped hold them together. Overall, this recipe worked marvelously!

I love this recipe, based on other reviews I aso used Italian bread crumbs about a cup and I also used an additional egg.I found that putting in fridge for about 30 min did help bind the burger during cooking. Yummie

These were FANTASTIC, although a bit spicy for me. I'll probably add little less jalapeno next time. Great topped with salsa!

wow, I loved these. Both hubby and I eat veg and these were a lot tastier than some of the lentil burger recipes we have tried. We are huge bean fans and we will make these again tonight, thanks for the great recipe!

FANTASTIC! I triple this recipe and make about 8 very substantial burgers. I've substituted chick peas and/or combined chick peas with butter beans -- all works great!

Great recipe. I popped the patties in the fridge for a half hour before frying and had no trouble with them staying together.

Very good! I added more jalapeno because I like things spicy. I made it in my food processor. Has a good texture and yummy flavor. Tastier and cheaper than store-bought veggie patties. Will make often. Thanks!

Very good! I've never used butter beans before. My boyfriend and I loved these. We used red bell pepper instead of jalapeno (because he doesn't like things too spicy). I coated the burgers in flour on both sides before putting into the oil, just to bind them together a bit. Thanks so much for a great recipe!

These were OK. A bit on the bland side, so I added some salsa to my bun for more zip. You can't flip these without them falling apart. Perhaps mroe bread crumbs would help.

These are so good, and can be soooo much healthier and diet friendly too! I used egg substitute, less cheese (part skim mozz.) italian bread crumbs instead of crackers, and used the George Foreman to cook them with just a spray of olive oil cooking spray! Just don't try to flip them or they might come apart.

This definitely needs more than just 6 crackers, as it was very sloppy. I added more crackers to be able to form into patties but we still were not impressed with the taste. Thanks.

add salsa! i was too lazy to chop anything so i pulled out my processor and added half garbanzo and half black bean and a 1/4 jar of salsa i had in the fridge. 1 egg and some leftover mexi cheese and whole wheat bread crumbs and yummolicious!

IMO, not a bad burger. It seemed to be laking something, or maybe it was because it was made with beans and not meat. I am going to try it again, but I will try it with bread crumbs as suggested by others. Also, I may try adding some rice to give a little bulk. All in all, not bad. Thanks

I loved the premise of the recipe but since I was making it with my young children in mind, I omitted the jalepeno, onion and cheese and added 1 T. parmesean cheese, about 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or almonds (sauted in margarine). My children really like this alternative burger.

Really liked these. Made some alterations (more seasonings, more breadcrumbs, no jalepeno), but they turned out well. If you are concerned about flavor, make a small test patty. Try that, and decide if it's good or needs anything. I added red pepper flakes and more garlic after my test run.

These were good - easy and pretty tasty. The consistency is a bit odd - almost like mashed potatoes, but the flavor was good. I only used 1/2 the mixture and refrigerated the other 1/2 - i look forward to experimenting with the other half tonight!
