I surprised at how much my family loved this! I doubled the recipe and and saved half in the freezer for another time.

I don't know why many reviewers changed this recipe so much. I made it exactly as instructed and it was delicious. I only substituted corn tortillas for the flour ones, and omitted black olives (we don't like them). I used lean versions of everything (97/3 ground beef, FF refried beans). Overall it is a good recipe - but plan to serve something light with it as a side - it is a bit heavy and filling.

Tasty! I only added 1 can of refried beans (totally forgot the other), omitted the olives (ick), and added taco seasoning (I used Taco Seasoning I from this site). Cheap, easy, and made a lot of food!

my family loved this however i leave the black olives off we don't like them. It is a little spicy for me and some of my bunch but the other half think it isn't spicy enough go figure. Good recipe I will make again.

okay, taste like a layered burrito. I'd honestly rather have a burrito and it's easier to make.

This is a nice little, easy recipe that can be easily tailored to your specifications. I used soy ground beef, some leftover salsa, mozzarella and of course WAY more garlic than in this recipe as my changes and it was delicious. It makes great leftovers too!

My 18 year old daughter decided she needed to learn to cook, and she used this recipe for her first attempt at a family dinner. It was absolutely fantastic. She followed the recipe for the most part but did leave out the peppers. The Rotel tomatoes with added chiles gave the flavor plenty of heat. Great, great, great. She's eager to make it again!

This was a really easy and delicious meal. I followed the advice of others and spread the beans on the tortillas instead of mixing them with the meat. To the beef, I added salsa instead of taco sauce and chopped jalepenos along with the taco seasonings and onions. We can't get colby jack cheese here, so I used sharp cheddar and it was a great substitute. A dollop of sour cream/creme fraiche and sliced avocados made the meal extra-great!

I followed the recipe with the exception of adding taco seasoning to the meat mixture & I spread sour cream on the tortilla shells between layers. The family loved it!! Very good recipe, I would strongly recommend making extras to freeze for those busy nights :) Thanks for sharing.

We liked this recipe ... we were not overly thrilled but it had a good taste to it! I spiced it up some and used fresh tomatoes instead of canned. It is nice and simple to make.

We enjoyed. I used my cast iron skillet to layer the burrito pie and bake. I also made the re-fried beans using a can of pintos. Heat small amt. of oil in skillet, add cumin and cayenne to taste, when hot, add can of beans with all liquids. Mash with ricer and cook to proper consistancy. Better and healthier than canned refried beans. Also, I will try green salsa in place of taco sauce next time.
