I came across this recipe while looking for good make ahead meals. With 1700 mostly good reviews, I thought I'd give it a try. It was just ok, nothing fantastic. I made it as written other than omitting black olives. I ended up with a 9x13 casserole and a 8x8 in the freezer. I may make this again in the future but it won't be any time soon.

An excellent recipe. Pretty easy to make and plenty of room to make tweeks to suit individual tastes (ie alter heat level, use different cheeses or ingredients in meat mixture) Definately will make this again!

We loved this recipe ! I used the layering method that LISAKP71 suggested. By hubby's recommendation, we also used a layer of crunchy tostada tortillas in between two beany flour tortillas. While they became soft in cooking, I think they added a nice flavour to the finished dish. I also used refried black beans. I'll definitely make this again. Great leftovers too !!

Overwhelming taste of beans and very heavy. It needs something to lighten it up like sour cream or more tomatoes maybe? I made in a spring form pan and that worked out very well.

It makes a ton, but I divided it into thirds and froze two portions for later. Served with lettuce, sour cream, and salsa, it is just like a burrito- only easier to prepare. Plus, who can find the seams with a spatula and keep rolled burritos whole and well formed in a pan while serving anyhow? I sure can't- this solves that problem!

This was great. It made a lot and I didn't end up having room for more than half of the tortillas.

Very good!!! I took a chance and made this for some dinner guests who like mexican food. I halved the recipe for the 4 of us and it was the perfect amount with no left overs. The men did have second helpings. I doubled the tortilla layers and spread the beans on top of tortillas. Used salsa instead of taco sauce and added more cheese. Opted for no olives for our tastes. Thanks for the recipe idea.

YUM! I am only rating it four stars because quite a few changes were made. We used shredded pork instead of the ground beef, and green enchilada sauce instead of the taco sauce. WOW! This was so tasty, and easy to make ahead and freeze for later use. Thanks for the recipe!!!

This was really great! I used ground turkey instead of beef to help make it a little more healthier. And since we like it cheesy, I added more cheese (4 oz) Its really great for next day left overs.

A great recipe! Of course I've played around with it, according to what I have in the house. The first time I made it, I followed someone's advice and doubled up on the burritos when layering, but found it's not necessary. Thanks for a new family favorite!

This is HEAVY. A little too much on the refried beans. Will try another reviewer's suggestion of "buttering" the tortillas, prior to arranging. Not a scrap was left behind!

This was really good!! I did learn a few things that I will change. I didn't have enough salsa so I used taco seasoning with a little water and used what salsa I had, about 3 TBSP. (I did like the flavor the taco seasoning gave.)I also did a double layer of tortillas with the beans spread on the first layer. With my seasoning/salsa mixture it wasn't as moist as I would have liked; I'll do a single layer of tortillas the next time. I used a 9x13 pan which is too big for one recipe. You don't get the concentration of meat that I would have liked. My girls don't like black olives so I used them as a garnish, along with sour cream and shredded lettuce. Delicious!!
