Tries htese twice- 1st time burnt to a crisp under the brioler in an attempt to crisp them up a bit. 2nd time used turkey little smokies and turkey bacon. Cooked on a wire rack over a cookie sheet. Still couldn't get them to turn out right. The bacon was kind of tough. I did dredge the smokies and the bacon in the sugar before wrapping which I will do again. Not sure how to make this work but will keep trying because the flavor of the ones that turned out right was really good.

These are always the first to disappear when I have an assortment of appetizers. It seems like only men would eat them but the ladies really enjoy them too.

These turned out amazing, I thought at first that they would be just okay but I was completely blown away. The first time I tried this recipe I made it exactly as the directions described; delicious. The second time, I cut the brown sugar by half and added two teaspoons of cinnamon and it was amazing. Definitely will keep making these and putting different spins on the ingredients.

Not healthy at all, but who cares!!! So delish!! I did not use nearly 1 cup of the brown sugar though. A sprinkling before you put it in the oven and a sprinkling part way through cooking and I turned on the broiler half way through cooking to crisp everything up nicely. I also did not use toothpick, just cut the bacon to go around the smokie once and laid it on the foil lined cooking sheet with the opening down. Worked fine and then poked them all with a toothpick as I was placing them on the serving dish.

Just OK for me - maybe a little too greasy even after baking on broiler tray.

these things are heaven in your mouth, the boy and i became completely obsessed with these after making them three days in a row! (and then i had salad for a month haha) we figured out what worked and ended up using cooling racks to cook them on, on top of baking sheets, so they didn't sit in the bacon grease. i added a bit more brown sugar because the sweetness is what i love about these lil snack weenies. will def make again! many many many times!

These are really good! I've had an extra package of lil smokies in my freezer for the last month, but didn't know what to do with them. I added some smoked paprika to the brown sugar for a bit of a different flavor, and then I drizzled them with maple syrup halfway through cooking. I served them for dinner sprinkled with crushed red pepper. The maple syrup/bacon pan drippings made a really yummy sauce to drizzle over them. I may even make these again for brunch, but using breakfast sausages instead of smokies.
