We made these for a Superbowl crowd that loves pigs in a blanket so when they saw these sitting next to the pigs in a blanket, they were skeptical. Well, what was left on the plate? Not these, these were gone in under half an hour. The pigs a blanket made it well past half time. Easy to make and a great recipe!

I made these for the Super Bowl and WOW! They are every bit as tasty and delicious as advertised and very simple to put together. I definitely recommend thinly sliced bacon and recommend the use of as much brown sugar as possible. After rolling the smokey in the sugar and then dredging the bacon through it, I tucked extra sugar in with each one as I rolled it up and then covered them all with a generous sprinkling before the pan went into the oven. So, so, so crispy and sugary and good.

These were a really nice appetizer. I did follow the advice of another reviewer and coated both sides of the bacon w/ the brown sugar before wrapping it around the smokie. They were really good.

I have made these for 2 years now and they are great. To make them the best you need to cook them on the grill or smoker outside, the wood smoke makes a difference.

I made these for a Super Bowl party at my son's home and everyone, including the young kids, loved them. I made them on skewers with pineapple chunks between each one. The brown sugar really added to the taste. A great recipe.

These we SO good! I typically make brown sugar bacon for football games, but wanted to turn it up for this year's Super Bowl. These were a hit! We borrowed someone else's nickname of "pig candy" and called them "Pittsburgh Pig Candy." :-) Served with the sauce from this site. Delicious! Huge hit!

These were great and super easy to make. My 8 yr old ate them like they were going out of style. I will definitely make again. I found it easier to put the smokies on the skewers than roll them in some brown sugar, rather than sprinkle it over them. Was just enough. They were Great! TY

I made these for Superbowl and they flew off the plate. I cooked on a broiler pan at 400 degrees for 20 mintues (give or take). They cooked perfectly, the fat dripped off, and the bacon was nice and crisp. But it needed some help with the brown sugar. So I took them off the broiler pan and placed in oven pan, poured the brown sugar from the broiler over it, and baked it off another couple minutes.

AWESOME!!!!!! I made these for our Superbowl party and I could not get enough. I was actually depressed when we ran out! I will definitely be making these again. I put them on skewers and baked them over a deep casserole dish so it would catch the bacon grease and they wouldn't be soggy. Baked them for 20 minutes, then flipped and baked an additional 20 minutes. After that I broiled them for a couple minutes since I like my bacon real crispy. Brown sugar really set it off, thanks for the recipe!

We made 2 batches for the superbowl and they were the only food completely gone at the end. They were delicious. We thought they were even better with a dipping sauce (mustard and grape jelly). Also I cooked them on wire racks which made the bacon crispy. Kept them in a crockpot on low for party. Next time I might try putting maple syrup on them- we tried it with a few and they were even better.

These were okay. I made on a broiler pan on wooden skewers with about 5 smokies a piece. To get the bacon anywhere near crispy, these have to be turned. I cooked them for about 30 minutes, turned them and broiled on low for about 15 minutes. I was trying to get the bacon done. Bottom line - they had a decent taste but no real bacon flavor and the bacon was not really crispy in the usual sense. They were easy to put together - I'm taking a star off for flavor and one off for the extremely extended cooking time.

So good. Good advice to put on toothpicks soaked in water. I used dark brown sugar too. I put them in a bag to create the sugar syrup like other suggested. I did convection on my oven which I think crisped them up better and faster. The suggested dipping sauce of chili sauce, mayo, and brown sugar was good.
