Very yummy and messy!! I wish I would have used more brown sugar... dipped both smokie and bacon in sugar... I also used toothpicks but ended up taking them out so the skewers would have been better. I baked them but ended up broiling and flipping to get each side crispy.

These are really good. They are a little sweet because of the brown sugar, but would make for a great appetizer at a get together.

This recipe is truly amazing! I dredged the bacon strips first in brown sugar before wrapping around the smokies, and I added more sugar on top after rolling them up. Also, if your bacon isn't getting as crisp as you would like, put the pan under the broiler to finish for delicious caramelization. A recipe I use over and over again because everyone loves them. They are even great cold out of the refrigerator for a midnight snack!

Unbelievable! Very, very rich. A huge hit at my party. Put them on a cooling rack which was set on top of a baking dish with foil. All the grease dripped down. One great tip for turning: I put another cooling rack on top and then flipped the whole thing at once.

I've been dmaking these for every event I've hosted or been invited to for years. They keep well in a slowcooker on low. I always double the batch! I've made extra large batches and frozen the excess. :)

Addictive! I used other reviewers advice and precooked the bacon a little in the skillet, then rub the bacon in some brown sugar. Then wrap the smokie. I also sprinkled what ever brown sugar that was left over, over the prepared smokies before baking.

These were pretty good, but not quite good enough for me to go to the trouble of wrapping all those little sausages in bacon again any time soon. I doubled the recipe and took them to a party. Most of them were eaten, but no one really commented on them. For that much work, I want something to WOW everyone. Next time, I'll dump a bottle of barbecue sauce on them and call it done.

I've made is two ways: Smokie sausages with Maple flavored bacon and Cheddar stuffed Smokie with regular bacon. The Maple flavored bacon was a big hit.
