It's a really easy appetizer for the holidays that disappears as fast as they are put out. I like to use apple hickory smoked bacon.

Great recipe! They were easy! In fact I served them for a party with a handful of other appetizers and these were by far the favorite appetizer!!!I served them with some chopped chives and drizzled honey mustard and small bits of fresh pineapple. I will make again!

Everyone loved these at our family gathering. Even though I accidentally burned them. I baked as directed for 20 minutes and the bacon wasn't crisp yet, so I put them under the broiler. The bacon crisped up nicely, but the brown sugar burned. So for me, bake as long as necessary and WATCH them! Delicious in spite of it, and I served them with Jack Daniel's bbq sauce for dipping. Great recipe!

I made these first in November and would have given that batch 5 stars, but the second time I made them, they didn't turn out as well. Great idea, great flavor and loved as a treat by guests waiting on Thanksgiving dinner. I'd try them again perhaps the second time it was a fatter brand of bacon or just me.

My family has had this recipe for years but instead of smokies we use hot dogs. The bacon is sliced in thirds and the hot dogs in quarters. My in-laws insist I make these for all family functions now.

OMG my husband and children LOVE these!!! As well as anyone else who has tried them. I am making a triple batch for a BBQ this weekend and am excited to test them out on a group of people who have never heard of them!! *update* They were a hit!! Everyone LOVED them...wanted the recipe. You could definitely get by with cutting the bacon in fourths rather than thirds. I learned that too late and had to send hubby on a bacon run. :-)

These are the best for sport game nights where there are men in the room. They will adore you for these candy meat. It's true when they say do not skimp on brown sugar! Darker brown sugars are better than lighter ones. I would try making these with maple syrup crystals if they weren't so expensive...maybe mix some with brown sugar!

Great flavor. I did take another suggestion by using center cut bacon but it was still greasy but had great flavor. I also dipped the bacon in the brown sugar prior to wrapping. Thanks for the recipe.

It was good as written. My husband also suggested making it with BBQ (Sweet Baby Ray's) which was tasty.

Definitely the talk of the party! I made these the morning of my daughter's graduation party and they were gone within a few minutes after I put them out. Every single person asked for more! I took some advice from other reviewers and they came out perfect! I cut the bacon in 1/3's and wrapped each smokie and put a toothpick in the seam. I placed them on a baking sheet and then sprinkled brown sugar generously over all of them. I baked them for about 15 minutes and they didn't appear to be cooking fast enough, so I broiled them about 15 minutes and they came out perfect! I will definitely be making these at all my parties!! Thank you! Heather in Florida

Very good and easy. I also agree with others to sprinkle the brown sugar on top and let it soak in the juices through the night. They are a hit and gone in seconds!

I also would rate these higher if I could.. whoever came up with this recipe is a genius. The only thing I do differently is I skewer them individually on toothpicks then roll them in brown sugar, and bake them in a foil pan that I can just throw away because the cleanup is a hassle. I also like to broil them for a couple of minutes after baking to get the bacon nice and crispy. I leave them on the toothpick skewers so people can avoid the sticky fingers that comes with picking them up. They are DELICIOUS, and soon you too will be the toast of the picnic if you bring these around!

A little piece of heaven... A fellow SPED teacher makes these for our school events and I swear, we fight over them. We each claim that we could devore the whole lot alone! Skip the cake, chips and dip, and head for the lil smokies!! Oink..

Love it, Love it, Love it. I would rate this higher if I could!! I did lay the bacon flat and added brown before I rolled the smokies, then aded the brown sugar on top once they were rolled. I cooked them for a while then turned on broil and flipped them over to make sure they were crispy all the way around. I took them to a memorial day cookout and they were gone within 1/2 hour.

5 stars after an adjustment. I lay the bacon flat out on parchment paper and put brown sugar on both sides of bacon, then I roll smokies up with the bacon.
