We thought this was very very good! I followed the recipe except I had to use crushed stuffing because I didn't have saltines. I will make a change or two next time I make it though. I thought there was too much sugar, next time I will use 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and will add some chopped garlic. Other than that I will definitely make this again!

Very good. Tasted like meatloaf oughta. I made it exactly as the recipe states EXCEPT adding a clove of garlic as previously suggested. This was very good!!!

This meatloaf never fails to please. I always add worchestershire to mine and put the glaze on the top instead of the bottom. Five stars!

I think this recipe is a fantastic base. I omitted the milk and also brushed the sugar/ketchup mix OVER the meatloaf because it just makes more sense to me to do it that way :o) I also made a "bread bed" for the extra oil. All in all a keeper, just add your own flavor and kick to the meat!

Followed another reviewers suggestions: I only used 1/4 cup of brown sugar. - I added 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce to the ketchup/brown sugar mix. - I used 1/2 cup of milk and 1 egg. - I added 2 cloves of garlic to the meat mixture. cook in muffin tins. I double the ketchup/brown sugar mix and put on bottom and top of each mini loaf. I always make it with ground turkey.

My husband never liked Meatloaf until I found this recipe. Umm good. I mixed cayenne pepper along with the brown sugar into the ketchup and poured it on top of the meatloaf. I also used the advise of putting bread down in the bottom of the casserole dish to absorb the fat. I also added a little finely crushed bell pepper and a tablespoon of worcestershire. Thanks for sharing.

Wow. I am not a big fan of meatloaf. I was looking for something a little different, and I found it here! I was skeptical and scared to try the brown sugar and ginger, but I am so glad I did. I used fresh ginger that I grated...excellent flavor. I added a tid-bit more salt than it called for because salt adds flavor, and I saw a couple comments saying it needed more flavor. Moist, flavorful....my only complaint is that I should have made double the recipe so that I could eat more! I only had enough ground beef for 6 servings...next time I'm making double. Try this recipe and DON'T skip the ginger....

Very good! I followed other reviewers' suggestions and cut down on the sugar, the eggs, the milk, and used bread crumbs instead of crumbled crackers. I also added strips of bacon to the top. Not as great as my mom's meatloaf, but nothing ever will be. ;) Will definitely make this again.

We all loved this. I used onion soup mix instead of the chopped onion just for a change. Used just a half a cup milk and subbed panko breadcrumbs for the saltines cause I love the way they taste. Also, a great glaze for meatloaf is 3T ketchup, 1T honey, 1T worcestershire, and 1T brown sugar. Yum! I added this on top, not bottom. On the bottom of my loaf pan I put a few pieces of sandwich bread to soak up the grease. Worked great!

This meatloaf was a little too sweet for me. My husband, who usually loves anything sweet, didn't care for it either.

Great Meatloaf! I skipped the Ginger, b/c I didn't have any! I was a little unsure about the Brown Sugar. But my husband loved this dish! Will definitely make it again.

I don't know if I was just in the mood for this or not, but it was just wonderful!! I will totally make this again. It isn't that different than the "wing-it" version, but it is also nice to follow a recipe to make sure it is good. Next time I think I will just put the ketchup/sugar mix on top of it, because I like it a bit browner.

My meatloaf kind of fell apart...may have been something I missed. I love onions but also agree with the previous reviewer that a whole onion is too much. I like the sauce added to it.

Best meatloaf ever! A few changes.. Don't put the sauce on the bottom. Save it as a glaze for the top. Then place it back into the oven to carmelize. Extra Yummy! Also, make sure to cut the onions small or use the onion soup mix. Other than that... You will have rave reviews. I will only use this one from now on.

If I can make a meatloaf and have the "I don't like meat" husband wanting seconds and thirds -- it's a winner. Absolutely delicious! I know some folks didn't enjoy the meatloaf roasting in it's own juices, but when the juices mix with the ketchup and brown sugar - it is absolutely amazing on top of the meatloaf and mashed potatoes! Yum! The only changes I made -- I added a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and I sauteed 3 cloves of garlic with the onion before adding to the meat mixture. Absolutely fabulous!
