WOW! At first I thought to myself, what's the big deal? Only butter and brown sugar with a bit of soy sauce? These chops were wonderful!! The butter and soy penetrates the meat while the brown sugar carmalized on top. I used boneless chops, so I only cooked for about 15 minutes covered and 10 minutes uncovered. PERFECT!

Nothing to write home about, but they were tasty enough and I'd make it again.

I used someone else's suggestion by combining all the ingredients together in a pot and boiling before placing on the chops. It was super simple and very good.

This was very good considering it wasn't with fancy ingredients! I cooked these on the grill and they came out delicious. Coated them with soy sauce again after flipping them. Very moist! Will make again!

Great pork chops! I melted the butter, then I poured it over the pork chops, then sprinkled brown sugar on top of the pork chops. I just realized that I forgot to add the soy sauce. I didn't even realize it. The pork chops turned out really moist and declious. I get tired of the same old ketchup or barbecue sauces over pork chops, so this was a nice change. My husband loved the pork chops also. I will be keeping this recipe for future pork chop dinners. Thank you!

Loved the flavor of the glaze! I sprinkled a little salt/pepper/garlic powder on the chops before adding the sugar and butter for some extra flavor. Only complaint is the glaze is very runny and doesn't really adhere to the chop, you just have to spoon it over the top afterwards. But, will probably be making this again. Thanks!

I have had this recipe in my recipe box since 2004. I have looked at it more times than I can count - wondering how so many people rated such a simple, boring recipe 4 stars. Usually, I like to cook meals that are a bit more elaborate than 4 ingredients - but I just couldn't pull it off tonight. So with pork chops out for dinner, I decided to make this dish....and the result was FABULOUS!! Although I did change things a bit (I seem to be unable to follow a recipe); first, I followed the advice of another reviewer and liberally salt and peppered the (bone-in) chops. I put them in a baking dish and combined my sauce ingredients in a small saucepan. As it was only DH and I eating, I only used 2 chops, but used 1/4 cup of all ingredients, plus 3 cloves (about 1 Tbsp chopped) of garlic, and 1 Tbsp of honey. I boiled the sauce until it reduced by about a third and then I poured about half of it over the chops. Covered the dish and baked at 300F for 30 minutes. Then I removed the lid, dumped on the rest of the sauce and baked for another 20 minutes without the lid. The end result was a very moist, juicy, tasty chop. I will make this dish again when I'm looking for a no-brainer...but next time, once the chops are done cooking, I will cover them with foil and add the sauce back to the saucepan and reduce further (and skip the first reduction). Excellent recipe - thanks so much!

I followed the recipe exactly and while I liked the flavor I also thought they were a little dry. I think next time I will use some of the other suggestions to moisten them. Good starting recipe though, I never would have thought to use brown sugar on pork chops :)

Made the chops exactly following the recipe but the sauce was veyr runny and the chops did not look appetizing. I put the chops into a skillet just to brown both sides and poured most of the sauce over the top of them in the skillet and they turned out great! The sauce thickened right up and there was a nice glaze/crust on the chops. With the slight modification at the end I'd give it 4 stars.

As is this recipe turned out very dry and the glaze was way too thin. To fix it up I melted the butter and added a tablespoon of dijon mustard and a tablespoon of finely chopped garlic to the other glaze ingredients. I then let the pork chops marinate in half of the glaze for 2 hours in the refrigerator. I then lightly browned the chops to give them a little bit of color and then baked them for about 35 minutes. While they baked I thickened up the other half of the glaze with some cornstarch and served it over the finished chops. They turned out sweet and slightly tangy and very juicy.

This was a really great recipe. I used very thick pork chops without a bone. The 1 hour cook time was just right. The chops were nice and juicy. I would cut back on the cook time if your chops are thin. Due to time restraints at dinnertime I put the chops, sugar, margarine and soya sauce together a couple of hours early and left it in the fridge until time to cook.

This is a really good recipe, my variation on it is to marinate the chops, sear them in a hot skillet and some butter and olive oil then bake them. I used boneless chops so it didnt take as long either.
