This is the first banana bread I've actually made.. or even tasted.. but it was sooooo freakin good! Especially when it's warm. It's very easy to make. Followed the recipe exactly except for I didn't add walnuts. I didn't have any.. but I did add just a few pecans because I had some.. and just to see how it would taste.. it was just as good. Will def keep making!

I made it last afternoon and this morning my whole house still smells like banana bread… delicious!!! It was my first attempt at making banana bread, and I had no brown sugar on hand and my bananas were very ripe, so I search in this site http://www.ochef.com (by the way, it is very good for questions) and they suggest to “substitute white sugar for brown sugar on a 1 to 1 basis, but add 4 tablespoons of molasses per cup, and decrease the total amount of liquid in the recipe by 3 tablespoons”. I did so and reduce the mashed bananas in 3 TBS. Instead of nuts, I used 1 cup of almonds. It was done in 1 hour. Was extremely sweet, but delicious and beautifully browned!!!. Next time I will reduce the sugar. Easy to make.

Very good - I didn't have any brown sugar for my "brown sugar banana bread". So I cut the sugar in half and added 1 tbsp of maple syrup and one package of apple cinnamon instant oatmeal. It came out great - super hearty! But it does need more than an hour to bake like... 90 minutes?

This recipe is so easy and it's one of those fail proof quick fixes that you can customize to your liking! I always add up to 1/4 a cup of sour cream to my mix and a little cinnamon to spice it up just a tad, try making a cream cheese spread / frosting or even dusting the top with some additional brown or powdered sugar..yum yum! everyone always gobbles it right up.

My family and I loved this recipe. My Dad is allergic to eggs, so I used applesauce and a little bit of olive oil as a substitute, and it held together beautifully. I'll definitely make it again.

This recipe was perfect for banana nut bread. I like to use dark brown sugar and pecans instead of walnuts.

This recipe is awesome! This is the first time I've made banana nut bread from scratch. I did add the sprinkling of brown sugar on top, as suggested by another member, and it's really wonderful. Thank you!

Good recipe, though I only have the 4x8 pans, so one makes it too full, so I used 2 pans instead and cut back on the time to 45 minutes. Worked fine. Next time, I will double the recipe and make 3 loaf pans.

I followed the recipe to a "T" and this recipe did not turn out well for me. It lacked the sweetness of other nut breads that I've tried from this site. I think another cup of sugar might have done the trick. Very disappointing to say the least. I've been a member for nearly 8 years and plan my meals solely from here.

Great recipe, very easy. The first batch was gone in less than 6 hours. I had to make 2 more batches for visitors and family! I used 6 bananas and 3/4 c of nuts since I like a lot of flavor in my bread. I also ran out of baking powder, using 2 teaspoons instead of 3 and it still came out fine. If you lower the heat to 325 and bake for 25, you can make 18-20 muffins.

The brown sugar gave it a deep, rich flavor. I quite enjoyed it.

For probably 40 years I have made a banana bread with a recipe I got from a wonderful home ec teacher which included sour cream. Since I didn't have sour cream, I made this recipe. This is good, but more cake-like...not nearly as rich or dense as my old favorite banana bread which I will continue to make. The sour cream must be what makes the difference!

This recipe was delicious. The changes I made were to make it a healthier. I substituted 1 cup of Whole Wheat Flour, added a half cup of organic rolled oats, and drizzled honey over the top and sprinkled with cinnamon while still were. Served after refrigerated - it tastes better chilled!

This was so easy and got RAVE reviews, although I did make alterations. Instead of butter, I used peanut butter, and in place of the nuts, I used PB & chocolate swirled chips. I also made this into muffins and sprinkled a little brown sugar on the tops, at the suggestion of some of the other reviewers. I will definitely make this one over and over!

I had some bananas that were too ripe to eat so I thought I would make some bread. I didn't even have to go to the sore because I had everything I needed in my kitchen! It turned out to be a beautiful bread. I made one loaf plain and one loaf with chocolate chips mixed in and both were delicious!
