I'd never made, tasted pumpkin pie until I moved to this country. I went by the reviews and made this one, and it's simply superb. And it couldn't be easier to make. Throw a few things together, throw it in the oven and you're done.

Yum yum yum!!! This is the best pumpkin pie, I've ever tasted. I used fresh pumpkin instead of pouree, which was a good alternative. Very tasty and quite quick and easy to make!

This is the best pumpkin pie I have made. The topping really makes the pie. Make sure you chop the walnuts very fine - I bought chopped walnuts and still chopped them until they were fine. I think it makes a better topping. Also be sure not to overbake this one. It's not nearly as good if the topping gets too brown.

By far the best pie recipe I've tried! Everyone had seconds and I managed to impress my future mother in law- she's a great cook but she's been begging my fiancee to get the recipe from me! My mom has also decided to change pie recipes from the one she's been using for years, to start using this one. Thanks for sharing!

I have never been a big fan of pumpkin pie, but this was the best!! I followed the directions exactly except that I added a little ground cloves. The kids loved it, too.

As is, I did not enjoy the pie. I should have followed all the suggestions for more sugar, salt, and spices. I don't care for super-spicy pumpkin pie, but this had very little spice taste at all...leaving the pie to be a squash pie...one that needed sugar. I will make again adding in sugar, salt, vanilla and spices.

Fantastic! Everyone loved the pie!! Even people who said they normally dont like pumpkin pie, said this was the best they ever had! I took suggestions from others&some of my own... added 1/4 cup white sugar and 1/4 brown sugar and added 1 tsp vanilla, I added 1/2 tsp cinnamon, next time will make it an addtl 1 tsp cinnamon, didnt separate eggs, just put the two eggs in with all the other ingredients and mixed it up! Used only 1/4 tsp salt and I used 1/2 cup pecans and was the perfect amount! Next time, I'll cut the ginger and nutmeg to only 1/4 tsp each, I like to taste cinnamon more than spices, but thats a preference! I used Pillsbury deep dish frozen pie crust and cooked the night before. let sit for a couple hours then covered and refriged till I took the next day. Left out till after dinner and the pie crust stuck a bit...next time I'll leave refriged till ready to eat. MMMMM... good, wish I had some now to eat! Enjoy!!

This was a very good pie. Definately will be adding sugar next time though! I made the topping with pine nuts instead of walnuts! We are such pine nut lovers. Very good overall just needed that little bit of sugar to make it 5 stars!

This is the best recipe for Pumpkin Pie. It was our second year making it for Thanksgiving and the crunchy top gives it just the right amount of sweetness! Will make every year!

I added a lot more spice than the recipe called for, including clove and a little vanilla (just my preference for flavor - the taste is a little light and mild for my taste without the extra spices), and it turned out fantastic! I've made this pie a couple times now, and it's gotten a lot of compliments.

My wife and I both loved this pie. I have always enjoyed "traditional" thick, custard-type, pumpkin pies. This pie has a much lighter texture. Combined with the crunchy topping, it is a real winner. We are making it again tonight - this time to serve at Thanksgiving dinner!

#1 PROBLEM w/ this recipe..NOT sweet enough! This pie has great texture and a good balance of spices (it's more on the milder side than anything..but who wants a mouth full of spices anyhow?). BUT - This pie is not nearly as sweet as it should be! If you like things not as sweet and/or if you are cooking for an older crowd, I recommend this pie. If you like things sweeter and/or are cooking for a younger crowd...I definitely recommend adding 1/4cup white sugar and a 1/4 cup of light brown sugar. (most pumpkin pie recipes have around 3/4cup of sugar so you could even add more if you wanted and it would still taste great and no overly sweet...) Other than the sugar issue.... I'd say this pie is pretty darn good. And just for personal taste; I'm adding a little more cinnamon next time because the cinnamon was also a little low IMO.

This recipe turned out fantastic. I'm a big fan of pine nuts (pignolias) and used them instead. What a fantastic flavor! One taste-tester said it looked and tasted like a pie from a professional bakery.
