Excellent recipe! Its a keeper for sure! I followed the advice of sauteeing the garlic in the butter first before adding the rest of the sauce, as well as toasting the cashews. I have also tried this with green beans and its great! Its a great base recipe for different flavours. For a calorie conscious meal, have also substituted the butter for sesame oil once....it gives a lovely Asian flavour.

This sauce got rave reviews! We put it on grilled salmon too. I added a bit of cornstarch to thicken and a bit more brown sugar to sweeten it up a tad.

This recipe is now called "cashew broccoli" for me. I start with the broccoli in a pan with a little bit of water at the bottom and allow it to cook a little, then I throw everything listed in and let it simmer before adding the cashews. It turns out wonderful and delicious every time. To save calories/fat I sometimes cut back on the butter, but really you can't tell. This is a regular recipe for me now.

Served this with Thanksgiving dinner this year; it was a tasty compliment to the turkey-day staples. As is essential of any Thanksgiving recipe, it holds up well as leftovers--the garlic has a chance to really do it's magic by day two. Next time, I will thicken the sauce; it turned out pretty watery.

This has become a favorite in my family. My kids will no longer eat broccoli unless it has this sauce on it!

Great recipe - makes me wonder why I don't eat broccoli more often =) I would have to agree that there is tooooo much butter. Next time will reduce quite a bit... and let it boil longer so it thickens more. Love the cashews; but easily could substitute sliced almonds if you don't have cashews. --The soy sauce made me think "Asian" but I didn't get that at all...it would be a perfect complement to any meal.

This was a HUGE hit! Delicious! Filled the house with an asian cuisine aroma and reminded me of and entree from PF Changs. I'm going to try mixing in some cut up chicken and adding some steamed rice on the side next time. So yummy, and so easy to make! You have to try it!

This may be my family's favorite Allrecipes recipe. They ask for it ALL THE TIME. Tips: the more cashews, the better; drain the broccoli well before adding the sauce or else it will become watery; and MAKE EXTRA because it goes like crazy!

Absolutely delicious. My son requests it all the time now (and he is only 6 yrs old!). I would cut back on the butter though as it was a bit too rich.

Wow! Did I forget to say WOW? I never thought Broccoli could taste so good! My 4 year-old asked for seconds-with that I tell you everything. I didn't have any cashews so I omited. I simmered for about 4-5 minutes.

The broccoli was great. Everyone loved it. The only problem that I had was making the sauce thick enough, but I hate cooking so it probably wasn't the recipes fault. Anyway it was easy to make and delicious.

Sauce was watery, overly complex flavors did not complement the taste of the broccoli.

Really tasty! I used less butter(about 1T), substituted honey for brown sugar, red pepper flakes for black, pine nuts for cashews, and balsamic vinegar for white. so basically everything but the soy sauce. Also I sautéed the garlic, pepper and pine nuts in the pan before adding the liquids and then let it boil a bit to burn off the vinegar. It was superb, I will be making again in the near future. I also mixed it up a bit with some cauliflower...
