I used this recipe for venison and it turned out very tender and juicy. I didn't have any ginger on hand so I simply omitted it and it was still delicious. My family ate it all. Now I am anxious to get ginger and try it with the ginger.

As advised, I doubled the ginger (powder) and garlic, and added 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes. I was a little confused by the broth - the size can listed is for the Campbell's condensed and I wasn't sure if I should water it down. Added two condensed and it went okay, a little too salty and the sauce didn't thicken until reheated as leftovers, but the flavor was good so it worked just fine for a college kid :) I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent recipe! However, the next time I make this I will partially steam the broccoli before I add it to the wok.

This is some awesome food! I followed other reviewers opinions and doubled the broth and spices... I ended up with way too much thin liquid. I used cornstarch and had to double the amount to get the sauce to thicken up. No worries though because the sauce was so good we almost ate it all anyway. Next time, because there will def be a next time, I will follow receipe and just add a dash more ginger, garlic, and soy to get my prefered flavor. Thanks a ton for this one!!

I had my doubts about the recipe however it turned out great my co-workers raved that it tasted like it came from a Chinese resturant. I followed the recipe exactly but did add red pepper flakes and cilantro flakes for some kick. Some reviews omitted the ginger root however, I thought it was good in the recipe.

Very good flavor, but the dish didn't look appealing. The sauce - which I thought should have been more like a glaze - turned out to be a thick brown gravy. The dish looked like beef stroganoff. But again, the flavor was excellent. Maybe next time I'll experiment with corn starch instead of flour.

This was better than my local Chinese take-out place as is! I'll make a few adjustments next time (add onions, more broth, etc..) to suit me but it's a great base recipe to build on. Thank you for sharing!

This was good. I added a few red pepper slices for some color and little extra flavor. I would probably add a little more or maybe add some more ginger...I am not sure what it was lacking, but it seemed to miss something. Overall, however, this was very good and I won't be buying at a chinese restaurant again!

I found this recipe to be so disappointing. The sauce was really thick and we just didn't like the taste very much. It got us through dinner last night but I won't be making it again.

i am so impressed!! i'm eating this right now, and it really does taste like takeout. i must admit, i was afraid that it wouldn't turn out because i used 2 beef bullion cubes (boiled in 15 oz water). but the extra dashes of garlic and ginger powder definitely make this meal and it wasn't too salty. thanks for a great, easy recipe!

This recipe is so yummy. I don't like steak and had some in my freezer so I thought this would be a good way to use it. I only made one change. I sliced the steak very thin and it turned out so tender. Steak to me is tough and this melted in your mouth. My husband raved about it. I will definatly be making this again.

Very nice recipe except it seemed to be missing a bit of a kick for our tastes so after I tasted it I added 1/4 tsp cayenne and 2 more TB soy sauce. PERFECT! I will definitely make this again!
