This was a great base recipe. I did make changes based on other reviews. Instead of broccoli I added fresh spinach and also cooked onions and mushrooms with the sausage. I cooked about 6 slices of bacon and added it to the mix. I used 2 cups of cheese. It turned out great. Reheated well the next morning, too. Definitely recommend this. I only gave it 4 stars because I didn't stay completely true to the original recipe.

I realy enjoyed this meal. I did make some changes to make it healthier. I used three cups of egg whites which is the equivelent to 12 eggs. I also, used 6 pieces of bread instead of 8. I used low fat chedder cheese. And I added some onion and green peppers. I thought it was delicious and it makes the meal alot healthier.

This was a great, easy and tasty recipe. I used Gruyere cheese instead of cheddar, 1/2 and 1/2 instead of milk and added some caramelized shallots for extra flavor. I also added about 1/2 cup of mayo to the egg mixture. Certainly not low in fat or calories but worth it for the taste and texture. I brought it to a brunch and everyone raved.

great easy recipe. I made it a day ahead of time & kept it in the fridge & cooked it for New Years brunch...so many compliments. It baked up perfectly. I did make my own arrangement by adding mushrooms & spinach.

I made this for our Sunday family breakfast before church. It was so easy to just put it in the oven in the morning. I made it the night before. It was beautiful, tasted amazing, and the texture was fantastic. Everyone loved it and had seconds. I had to modify the recipe slightly. I didn't have any brocoli, so I used chopped spinach instead. I also added 1/2 cup chopped onions (my family is into onions). It was perfect. I will definately make this again! I served this with a fresh fruit salad and fresh streusel topped blueberry muffins from this site. It was all a hit!

I thought this was a great recipe, but my husband thought I used too much bread. The bread we buy is more of the upscale whole grain type, which is bigger than plain white sandwich bread, so 8 slices more more than covered the bottom of the pan. In order to make it even, I used more like 10 slices, which made 2 layers of bread instead of a single layer lining the bottom. No one else complained (I served it to friends for brunch) but my husband says he didn't love it. We also substituted lean cubed ham for the bacon. I thought the whole thing was great, but next time I will use closer to 6 slices of bread and make sure I only have one layer on the bottom of the pan.

This was a tasty, savory way to use up old bread. I cut the bread into chunks, and skipped the butter. I used vegetarian hot dogs instead of bacon and was more generous with both the "meat" and the broccoli. It was a good dish, but a bit bland. I think next time I'd brown some onion and garlic with the hot dogs or add more seasoning.

Perfect casserole for a holiday morning... salty (bacon) and cheesy, I loaded it with extra fresh broccoli. A bit hit.

Great Casserole! Used spicy sausage instead of bacon and doubled the amount to 16 oz. Also cut the eggs down to 9. Served with hot syrup.

I made this for Christmas breakfast, and it was a hit. I did make a few changes after reading other reviews. I cut the bread into cubes before lining the bottom of pan. Substituted about 12oz of sausage for broccoli, and added some diced ham. I cheated and used the "real bacon pieces" instead of frying and crumbling my own. Put all together the night before and popped into the oven in the morning. It was perfect! Thank you for this great recipe!

We liked this, but definitely want to make some changes. Maybe some green onion and bell pepper. The idea is good, and the dish is easy, but it was just a bit bland for us. I'll certainly make it again, but with a few changes.

This got so many good reviews that I thought it would be a sure thing, but I'm sorry we just did not enjoy this at all. Made this because I was cooking for a crowd and it did make a lot. The bread made the texture of the dish spongy, the bacon got soggy, the cheese burned, it tasted pretty bland, and hubby said the "the broccoli doesn't go." Just overall was not received well by anyone. I would have been better off making scramble or breakfast burritos. Who knows maybe it was the cook that was at fault? I will say that I followed the recipe to the tee though.

This was great. I tested 3 recipes for breakfast casseroles on the family this weekend and this one was far above the rest. I will be making this for a teacher appreciation breakfast tomorrow. I did as previous reviewers said & added some more cheese and used frozen broccoli (16oz bag). Since I had the other casserole ingredients going, I had some extra cooked potato & threw that in too. I forgot to put in the dried mustard, but didn't miss it. This was really good & so easy. Thank you Linda!

I made this with turkey bacon, and added some left-over garlic french fries, cut down to one inch pieces. I buttered the bread with olive spread rather than butter. But I did butter the pan. What a wonderful tasty way to add broccoli to the diet. Served mine for dinner. Yumm!

This was awesome. I substituted cherry tomatoes for the broccoli, as I am not a big fan of it baked. I also used a swiss cheese. My out of town guests raved non-stop and asked for the recipe! Thanks.

Yummy! This turned out just how I'd hoped. I shortened the prep time by using the microwave for the bacon and also to steam the broccoli. I simply rinsed the broccoli and put it in a corning ware dish with a lid and used only what water remained on the broccoli to steam it for 4 mins. I added a finely minced onion to the egg mixture. I did NOT make it ahead of time; it sat in the fridge for an hour before I put it in the oven. It was great!

This is a very tasty recipe. I served it for easter brunch. It was a big hit! I will make it again. I used less bacon and added a little more cheese. I also added onions for more flavor. I prepaired the night before for an easy brunch that everyone loved.
