Ew. Too eggy to be bread pudding, too bready to be an egg dish. Dry with practically no flavor. I followed the directions exactly. There were huge lumps of cream cheese. I normally love cream cheese, but this stuff ruined even that. I was going to make it for a staff breakfast next week. Now I'm searching for a new recipe.

This was an easy recipe and it turned out well. Tastes good either hot or cold, with or without some whipped cream on top. I used ONLY bread crusts (I had them leftover from another recipe), and whole grain bread. Don't worry; it didn't taste too "healthy," but there was extra fiber and nutrition. I also used reduced fat cream cheese. I didn't have maple syrup, so I substituted caramel sauce (the kind you might put on ice cream). After refrigerating I mixed it up to promote even baking. This recipe is not too sweet, so it can pass as breakfast or used as a dessert or comforting snack.

I have a family of six and no one really cared for this recipe. We ate it, but would not make it again. I added sugar, cinnamon and vanilla for extra flavor but still did not care for it.

This is excellent - I added fresh/frozen blueberries (about two cups) and made a sauce with 1 cup of blueberries and a bit of maple syrup in a small saucepan. Cook on medium heat until the blueberries the burst, and serve poured over the breakfast bread pudding. Yummy!

WONDERFUL, YUMMY AND A GREAT COMFORT FOOD!!! I do not remember ever having bread pudding as a child. But my husband loves bread pudding. When I saw this recipe had cream cheese in it I just knew it would be fabulous! I change I added 3/4 c raisens.

This tastes sort of like french toast--only made in a pan! I thought it needed to be sweeter. It was good, but not great.

Pretty good and tasty. Would add more flavor. Needs more sugar or something. Not sure.

I cut down the eggs to 8, doubled the bread and added 3 cups of milk, sugar and some spices. Actually baked it in the crockpot for a family gathering. Good! Thanks!

I made this and it was really really dry. I have 3 kids and none of them liked it.

I liked this when I added the sugar, cinnamon & vanilla as suggested by a previous poster. Something I didn't realize was that the cream cheese cubes don't really break down and if you make your cubes too big you have big globs of cream cheese in it. Next time I will make much smaller cubes and will roll them in sugar. I think a slightly sweetened cream cheese would be better.

I made a few changes to this recipe and my family LOVED it on Christmas morning! I changed the serving size to 8 and used 16 pieces of bread like the changes said, but I used a little bit more cream cheese than it called for. I also added about 2 1/2 tablespoons of cinnamon, 3/4 cup of sugar, and 2 tablespoons of vanilla. Before I baked it I sprinkled the entire thing with sugar also. I know, extra calories but who's counting when you have that many eggs? :)

Not a bad base but needs a lot more flavor. I sprinkled mine with some cinnamon but it could have used some sugar or a sweetened cream cheese.
